Vampireism and Werewolf bites on the Crown Store, Quick question???

I'm considering buying the vampire bite. I'm more or less a casual player these days and I've yet to find a guild or friends on Xbox Live so I solo almost all the time. My question (to make the purchase worth while) is: Is the curse a consumable item like a potion or is it an account wide unlock? Can I use it with alts or just the character that buys it? I've been surfing for 30 minutes and haven't found an answer yet.

Purchasing it is a one-time deal and only for that character. For any other character, you'll have to purchase it again.

If I may suggest, you can generally obtain a free bite from players simply by going to the shrine. What server/alliance are you in? If EP/XB1/NA, I may be able to help with that.

Thanks I appreciate the offer, sadly I'm DC/XB1/NA so different alliance lol. Well that answers my question I'll hold off on that purchase. Seems way to high in price for a one-shot item.

Yeah, that would make it difficult. Still, I would go to the shrine. A lot more people are willing to give bites away now, these days.

Same here. I got one this morning for free at the shrine. Was literally doing the kowtow and not even five minutes went by.

All of these ideas about waiting by the shrine are nice... IF you want to wait until you're at a high enough level to be able to get there without dying... considering the shrine is located in the highest level zone of your alliance and on top of that, having to complete the quest facing high level enemies. Thus, for low level players who want to be a vamp right away so they can start leveling their skill lines earlier, buying from the Crown Store may be the only option.

Also, if you buy Crowns when they are on sale, suddenly everything in the Crown Store becomes cheaper.

It's really not difficult making it to either shrine at a low level. Week 1 of console launch, myself and a couple of friends went there, avoiding heavily populated enemies areas. Besides, even if you do die, respawn and ghost run away from the thing that killed you.

There's no waiting involved. I did a lot of my lore book grinding at a low level as well.

You can also use the guild or friend taxi system. Just check your friendslist or guild rosters and see if anyone is in the region you'd like to get to, and you TP to player, free as well. Although, before I knew this, I travelled to Riften myself on my main character, and Bangkorai on my second character by dodging all the high level mobs.

And as for not being able to do it at low level... for the werewolf quest at least, I can confirm that you can complete it at just Level 10, as I have done it twice now at that level. Providing you get the mammoth boss. It is possible for the other ones, but obviously difficult.

oh buying the bites from the crown store skips the quests for vampirism and lycanthropy altogether so it goes straight to full blown vampirism and full blown lycanthropy respectivily still goda earn the skills in the skill lines tho and still gets u the vampirism and lycanthropy achievements

Hang on, save yourself before you do anything... If you have already bought it sorry I was too late... I am on Xbox one and will quite happily bite you, I know I have a werewolf who can bite you, and maybe a vampire... Just message me @HyprrInfected, over Xbox live... This depends on what alliance you are from though, Also note I haven't played in a while, so I can't remember where some shrines are

And then you have the trolls who do nothing but hang out and kill and bloodfiends, werewolves that spawn so a player can't get an NPC to infect.

I'm not sure what's more offensive, the price of the crown store bite, or the trolls?

True. Honestly though, trolls no longer bother me. I've been playing MMOs for far too long. They're in every MMO I've ever played and most do it their entire MMO careers. You'll be surprised by how many stream their trollish actions all for the sake of a few views and laughs.

In the end, it's all fun and games and everyone is welcome to their own entertainment, but ESO console really needs GMs...

I did shell out crowns for a new character I made a few days ago, but only because I made him my Verandis clone, and I needed him a vamp asap, but I will be offering free bites once he gets that passive.

Apologies for hijacking this thread however does anyone know if we do purchase a vampire or werewolf bite from the ESO store, is the option to re-apply it still available? Or do we need to repurchase the bite again?

It is a one-time bite and occurs at the exact time you purchase it.

It is a one-time bite and occurs at the exact time you purchase it.

Even if someone is selling it for 5 to 10k you should be able to get that relatively easily in game. Not worth shelling out the 1500 crowns. For instance a level 6 doing all the writs gets about 2k per dayso after a few days you have enough or one day of heavy questing. Or sell one tempering alloy for 10k (could probably get more).

I would give you a free bite if we were on the same server and alliance but unfortunately we are not.

That's all good IF that level 6 player can safely make it to a the highest level alliance zone and survive to reach the altar. Sure you can die a few times and just 'ghost walk', but it's a pain IMO to rely on someone else when you can just shell out 1500 Crown, receive instant Vampirism and never have to spend the 10+ minutes completing the quest- and that is, IF you are even able to complete the quest at level 6 because enemies are level 38. Remember, new players are not going to be experienced at combat but may want to become an instant Vampire due to RP.

All valid points, I guess it comes down to the time value of money or the value of your time vs the value of your money.

All those I have bitten have completed the quest, I have made sure of it. Dying too quickly here's some set gear food and potions. Quest glitched? Ok you need to this and that to advance it, although all that is making me not want to give out bites as much.

I give out my vampire and werewolf bites each week, for free. AND I escort the character to the shrine each time to do it. Lately I've been offering them at Khenarthi's Roost and Stonefalls, respectively, escorting characters to the shrine in Reaper's March and the Rift, and letting them have the bite. If they have trouble with the quest at that level (usually 7-8), they still have a WHOLE WEEK to do the quest before the timer runs out. And I've done that quest at level 3!

I'm seconding what people are saying: Don't pay the crowns. And really, don't even pay people for the bite altogether! Most people will bite you for free if you just politely ask.

So far I've only encountered one person in game who has purchased the crown store bite. My guild and I continue to give free werewolf bites on PC/EU, and help save people real world money as well as the usual trolling and scamming that continues to happen.
But yes, as others have said, the purchase affects only one of your characters, and only once, so you can effectively cure yourself, and then need to buy it again.

Don't listen to the hardcore players any game made for them dies. Yes it's very easy to obtain the bite from a player now as the guilds have lost control of the ability to corpse spawn vamp sites as tons of players are giving out the bite for free.

But if you get the vamp bite from a player you still need to do the quest which can be hard depending on your level.

Needless to say I did it and loved the quest.

Six months later on my brand new character on another server and before I left to the starting town I bought the bite what happens is your literally transformed without doing the vamp quest.

To me the bite was worth it because I remember spending night after night chasing that bite well pariah hardcore players who were in pariah DKP GUILDS bragged about killing vamp spawns and the only way for a chance for a bite is to do an application for their guild.

Any guild that demands you do an application and then takes a few isn't worth it.

The more popular this game gets the more causal friendly this game gets.

Look what happened with SWTOR it has the casuals but decided to do a guild summit and tell us group finders were not needed and we needed to group to do most quests to appease the incoming SWG players.

They lost 2 million members quickly and stopped appeasing the hardcore minority but not before the base of the game left and sparsely ever came back.

ESO is the only free2play game out there that really works and gets it
