making dual wield basic attacks scale with magicka too? If ZOS like the "spellsword" idea at least give us this basic benefit. Every other dual wield passive beside Twin Blade and Blunt being useless to us is a fair enough trade off already for the higher spell damage.

Anything to make it relevant for magic users to actually carry swords, sure, but it shouldn't make staves obsolete.

Magicka Jabplars would find this especially useful. +1

Edit: Maybe one of the DW passives could add a bit of magic damage to light/heavy attacks that scales with spell power but only becomes active if your magicka pool is greater than stamina.

Would also give a bit better "flow" to melee range magicka users like stamina and staff users have. Dual Wield would also be viable on a main attack bar for PvE players also that feel they can cope with the risk of being in melee range with lighter armor.

You haven't been paying attention it already IS the main bar for a HUGE portion of endgame players both pvp and pve mage and warrior. Yes I am adverse this change would just make it worse.

I've never run into a melee magicka NB, a magicka DK or a magSorc using dual wield in any dungeon or trial instead of using a destro staff. AOE and execute bar yeah but not main bar.

Opposite here the only time I ever saw it is with DKs, Sorcerers that rely on crystal fragments (force shock spam) or when someone is smart enough to know a fight is very biased towards ranged builds. Even sorcerers I know talk about feeling awful because they can't do as much damage with a staff. In PvP it is quite common for dual wields especially on templar healers or mageblades. Besides the meta for mages is to use the best class skills+ultimate (usually meteor or dawnbreaker) with dual wield because dual wield spell damage is like 1.4 times better than staff. If they get better base attack damage than staves staves would be looked at worse than the sturdy trait on armor.

@Uriel_Nocturne care to offer your 2 cents?

I always thought that would be a perfect way to implement a Bound Weapon spell.

PvP yeah of course, I run dual wield on both my Sorc and Magblade.
