Alliance War Mail

I had to start a new character to store all my mail, because it's constantly full, my characters inventory has been upgraded and is full, and my bank is full. If you're playing PVP a lot, your mail fills up VERY quickly. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all the junk you send me, but I wish it was separate from my normal inbox.

This is why I think Alliance War mail needs its own, separate inbox, highlighting the end of campaign reward titles in gold or something. Perhaps one you can check them from an NPC in Cyrodiil or a board similar to the bounty ones for example.

A day in the life of a PVPer who doesn't have 2 hours a day to sort out his mail.

While I certainly agree inventory management in this game is a nightmare, I am not sure I see the problem here. 99% of what you receive is crap you will break down for mats. How hard is it to go to a crafting station (southgate; don't even need to leave Cyrodiil), open a few mails, break the items down, open a few more, break those down, etc, then hit the bank that is right there, deposit the mats, then get right back into the fight?

It takes about ten minutes to grind down a full page of rewards of the worthless.

That depends. I'm a crafter as well, so my bank is completely full as well as my main character. I'd have to juggle things around to make room for the hundreds of mails I probably have waiting for me.
So ten minutes? No, very unlikely.

Not a bad idea actually. I do prefer to deconstruct on my main crafter to get the most out of the returns, but I might have to bite the bullet and do it on my storage dude and bank the mats as you suggest :/

I play several characters (see my sig) and have leveled each ones' crafting to 50 just by deconstructing stuff. I only put the skill points into getting full returns for decon on two of the toons. A couple things to note:

    (1) I assume your PvP toon is getting V15/16 items as rewards for the worthy. Regardless of how many points you invest in unraveling or similar deconstruction/refining passives, your toon deconstructing the items MUST be V15/16 to get the V15/16 mat from the item. If it is a lower level toon, you will get the message that you lack sufficient skill to get all items. Not sure if this is intended or not, but this is certainly how it function presently on PS4.

    (2) As most of the items you get will be green items, with the occasional blue or purple, I can only assume you have plenty of the green upgrade mats and therefore care very little about the green mats, or even the blue ones. I personally only care about the crafting mats.

So, for me personally, I don't mind cleaning my mail box on my non-crafter v16 toons. Keeps things quick and easy.

    You have my empathy.

I have two crafting characters, which I also quest with, and 1 mule, and one character for PvP. After a few hours in Cyrodiil, I have to:

    1. Go to the bank and save all my components.
    2. Now that my inventory is cleared a bit, I withdraw enough stuff form the bank and deposit the armor/weapons/enchantments for crafting characters.
    3. Log out and log in crafting characters to withdraw those items from the bank and deconstruct them, then deposit materials.
    4. Relog in and save all the mail items.
    5. Repeat the process with crafting characters.
    6. Finally, clear out my character's inventory by redeposting the stuff I withdrew in Step 2.

Inventory management is a nightmare is an understatement.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Why not just use the crafter to open the mail? Deconstruct all items, then deposit whatever mats and the money you got from the mail into the bank before log-off. Seems it would save you several steps and having to shift items around your bank for inventory space no?

Another option, and something I do quite often if I have inventory issues at a given time: If you have a trusted gaming buddy, simply send him/her a mail with the items and subj the mail R2S (return to sender). Costs me 10 coins to send a mail, they R2S it for free, then six items are out of my inventory and in my mail for me to open once I clear some inventory space; I often do this in dungeons or when farming the sewers to keep from breaking momentum. This is also how I move items from one toon to another (i.e. I send all recipes from my alts to my provisioner toon) as I hate doing the withdraw/deposit balancing act at the bank to have adequate bank space.

I'd also like an option where player sent mail appears in a different section, particularly player messages from people in your own guild. It would help things stay a lot more organised.

Can cost a lot more. Cost of sending depends on value of mail. If you send cash or COD something, you could pay a couple thousand for the mail delivery

And to think they actually REDUCED the amount of mail you get from kills. They claimed that you would get less rewards but better item. They lied. Not only do certain sets like vengence leach and other jewelry sets no longer drop as v16, you very rarely get anything other than decon fodder but a lot less than you used to just to keep the price of V16 ingots up.

Rewards for the worthy was already not rewarding and ZOS has the gall to nerf it even further.

Correct me if im wrong, but you get a mail per 10k AP! So my question is how much AP are you guys grinding? 150k, 200k, 300 or more? I usually get about 5-6 mails in my 2ish hrs of Cyro a day..

I'm getting mails like every 10 minutes, usually full of crap like bows, staves, useless hats. It doesn't feel like anything has changed. I don't mind too much because I can deconstruct all this stuff for mats... it's just the storage I'm having an issue with.

I've decided to turn my storage dude into another crafter. So he's filtering all the rewards for the worthless mails and doing stuff with the items from there. Just feels like I'm managing inventory more than pvping these days and it bums me out a little.
