Toothmaul Gully Champions/Group Event

After doing some research and trying for the Toothmaul Gully achievements, I decided to make a thread mentioning a few things I experienced, because there is some inconsistent information about the place.

- You don't have to kill all of the champions to make Bloodroot appear. I'm sure his respawn timer is very long, and I got lucky, but I had encountered only 3 champions when I killed all of the spriggans, and made Bloodroot appear on the first try.

- The Gully's denizens can set off bear traps. I only saw it once, but it was pretty funny, because he was wounded and ended up killing himself. The info isn't practical, but I found it amusing.

- The achievement related to killing the champions is not working correctly. I recorded myself killing 5 of them, but only received the achievement for killing three. I don't know which ones didn't register properly, but I know that Togga the Skewerer did register, because it was after killing him that the achievement popped up.

I've done all public dungeons in the game multiple times. A few pointers:

    - The group challenge is 100% independent of the bosses. You simply have to wait out the timer if the first adds aren't up, or do a puzzle in the case of Tombs of the Na-Totambu in Alik'r Desert. This last one requires at least 2 players.
    - There are always 5 bosses. You get a Conqueror achievement for killing 3 different ones and a Vanquisher achievement for killing all 5. If you only got the 3-boss achievement, chances are you didn't get 5 bosses, or you killed some of them more than once. You can check which one is missing on your achievements list in the Journal. I never once had a case of one of these bosses not registering.

I believe I can account for the two missing ones: If the bosses are separate, then Bloodroot didn't count, and it would appear that Slakkith and Gorg only count as one champion.

    Thanks for the clarification.

The champions are all seperate fights. Some "champions" however are a group of mobs. Not all champions are always up, sometimes you have to wait for them to respawn... and when you don't know where they spawn, that can mean quite a bit of running around, or trying to guess their "spot" (Kinda like... "Why is this open space off the track even here? Oh, right maybe that's one of the chamipon locations...")
There even is a champion good at hiding in the orsinium dwemer dungeon (took me quite a while to find the ice atronarchs hiding spot when I was there to solo that one!) But with some effort, time and possibly looking where more experienced players look for bosses to do, you can get all those neat achievments and such! ;)

As has been stated, the champions have nothing at all to do with the group challenge. Most of which are following a "kill all the sideshow mobs to make group boss appear" pattern. Sometimes there's also some other interaction thrown into the mix, or some specialty to the fight (like the old orsinium group challenge, where its very easy to wipe if you don't realize the flame danger pattern). And yeah, the one in the Alik'r one wants a puzzle solved where you need a second player to stand on the right plates. But none of them have -anything- to do with the rest of the dungeon. At all.

I was in Toothmaul recently and saw two groups of mobs get in a fight with one another. It was amazingly fun to watch. This used to happen in Asheron's Call, but in that game mobs could level.

Addon Public Dungeon Champions if you want a quick way to see which you have killed and which you still have to. Also shows the group challenges.

All of them show on the map.
