Hi
i have updated 2 computers with new drivers nvidia 361.43 and both starts to crash in character creation view and in instances like the harborage. Its not playable. Can you look into this?

What is your GPU and/or UserSettings file? I am using Driver Version 361.43 and didn't have a problem with DX11 or OpenGL (if using OpenGL, check you UserSettings file and use OGL instead of OpenGL for the value).

It's probably driver related. I tried the 361.43 driver recently, and I thought it was unstable. It was also producing problems for me with the NV control panel settings preview (it would cause it to hang). So I rolled back to 359.06 for now. I'd love to know who actually "QA tests" these. Load of BS, imo.

@vek892_ESO While I'm not 100% on this unless it can be confimed by somebody else - I'm pretty sure the viable GraphicsDriver options are: D3D9, D3D11, and OpenGL.

I'm fairly sure that using "OGL" results in it just being unrecognised, and so it auto sets it when you run the game. Probably back to d3d11.

The OpenGL backend for this game seems to be fairly buggy on windows, at least without specific 'stable' OGL drivers (nv eg: https://developer.nvidia.com/opengl-driver).

I *think* ESO has become more crash prone since 2.2.7 or 2.2.8 was released in general - I also run nVidia but have not moved on from 358.50 because of warnings about the latest version.

But since one of the most recent patches the number of CTD incidents with ESO has escalated drastically - it used to happen once every few days at most normally in one of those epic 3 way battles in prime time on a busy PvP campaign, now it is 2 or 3 times a night regardless of what I am doing although busy PvP is still the most likely time.

I have not done anything to my system except normal reboots and windows patching and my hardware is more than capable of handling anything this game can throw at it.

I am in 2 active PvP/PvE guilds and some others are reporting a similar increase in crashes.

Hopefully the sharp upturn in crash reports coming in will encourage someone to take a look and we'll see a patch soon.

Thank you, ill reroll to 359.06 then. btw both computers have exactly the same problem and they are quite different. But my main is good enough to be able to handle even messy pvp situations without lag:)
