Redguard Templar Advice

Hello all,

I started playing ESO a few weeks ago. I've just hit level 15 but feel that my choice in skills and attributes are all over the place. This is the first game of this type that I have played in years and the first on a console.
If anyone could point me in the right direction with regards to which skills to choose and where to put my attribute points. Also what type of weapons and armour would compliment said skills. At the moment I play purely solo and will be focusing on PVE only. I now understand that my race/class type probably isn't the best but I don't want to start from scratch. I'd like a build that has survivability but can also do some damage as I like to be in the mix of things.

Since you went Redguard, I assume you're wanting to be mostly stamina.

In that regard, when morphing a skill, be sure to go with the stamina version (if one is available).
Wear medium armor (ie. 5/2, 5/1/1, 7/7).
Two Handed, Dual Wield and Bow
Don't worry about where you're placing your skill points. You'll want to level all three Templar Skill lines anyway, which will help.
Decide if you want to deal damage, tank or heal.
Hybrids don't work end-game in group content, so you'll need to decide magicka or stamina.

Most of all, don't be "that guy" who finds a build and follows it word for word. Use builds as a guide, stepping stone or template and find what works best for you and your playstyle.

Thanks for the reply. As I'd have to choose, I'd probably go for a DPS type. Trust me, I don't want to be "that guy" to copy things word for word, I like to put my own interpretation on things. Thanks for the link, I'll have a look at it now.

You're very welcome.

To add to my 4th tip, your first respec will generally be pretty cheap. The way I leveled my templar, even if I knew I wasn't going to be using most skills, was placing my active skills on one bar, gaining xp for them while killing. Bar 2 was filled with skills that I wouldn't use, but mostly meant to get to Rank 50 in each skill line for the passives. I swap to that bar for quest turn ins.

Also, if you don't know crafters, where training gear. Your armor skill lines will hit Rank 50 before you even reach Coldharbour.

You need vigor to be anygood with a stam class.

Go magick healz, and spam mutagen in pvp.

also you are only 15,

your going to hit vet 1 and realize you wasted your time by not planning out your class better,

its what happened to me.
