About the bellydance outfits... (and discussion on dance emotes)

Because let's face it, that's what they are.

First, where are the male Redguard outfits???
Second, I don't hate these so HUZZAH! Though, PLEASE tell me you're actually working on letting us dye them SOON.

So anyway, you've obviously given us dancing girl outfits... can we have some dance moves to go with them? /dancedunmer actually uses bellydance moves (which seems kinda strange since I expected the Redguards to have them) but it's the only one. Now I know dopey dances are kind of an MMO staple and I do get a serious giggle out of them. But it's an old joke by now and I KNOW you guys can do better. And while (standard disclaimer for all the folks who will dive in here to be snarky at me for advocating for more fluff) I know there's MANY "more important" things for you to be working on I know you also care about immersion and adding a more complex or at least fuller dance system would certainly be a step in the right direction on that front.

So, one of the coolest things about Age of Conan was their dance system. Each racial dance actually had a selection of moves you could easily switch between to create complete dances. People actually did entire troupe performances in that game and it was freaking epic. Here's a sample of the Stygian (bellydance) moves:

Also gotta admit I totally miss THAT dancing girl outfit! LOL

These were the Cimmerian male dance moves so as you can see, all the races and both sexes got a wonderfully stylized treatment to play with.

And please start looking a little more broadly when you design costumes for the crown store. If any race deserved some wonderful fantasy Orientalism treatment, it's the Redguards. So, here's some more inspiration for you!

ZOS, please don't go down the same route Tera did, and make just female stuff. There are a lot of us who play males as well and want nice things for them to show off their tatts, fur/scale patterns, etc.

I also agree with Morna - we need more dance emotes. And more instruments as well please, to go with them! More music is never a bad thing!

I would LOVE more musical instruments! And for the love of Talos ZOS take the music OFF the client side and put it on server side where it belongs!!!! And please, MORE CULTURAL MUSIC! We shoudl really be able to tell the difference between all the faces music. So if you DO add more instruments, make them CULTURAL instruments and make them play appropriate cultural music! Redguards need a sitar and a doumbek!!!!

I kinda assumed they were leading with the girly stuff, and adding male stuff next month.
After all, it is the quater of the thieves guild DLC, which will be in southern hammerfell, thus prompting "redguard" stuff for crown releases, right?

As for more inspiration along those lines... YES!
And definitely something for boys too (not that I wouldn't put it past plausibility that some could look cute in the dancers outfits, but...

)

Music, yeah, I'd love more regional diversity. And more regional instrument choices for NPC ministrrels...

As for musical instrument emotes...
I kinda wish they would redo that completely, make a whole "Bardic Guild" skill line with musical instrument "weapons" and musical "abilities" to use them, to cast toggled continous (while playing) AoE buff/debuff songs...

I'm totally on board with your post though. Any time I'm waiting for others in-game (maybe we're preparing to do a dungeon and someone needs to deal with their inventory first, maybe we're waiting for an anchor to drop, whatever) I'm always dancing. More options for dancing would definitely be appreciated by me.

I don't really understand the message these costumes are to convey.
The drab colored outfit looks like ESO's equivalent of wearing sweatpants in public.

My guess is 500 for the first, 700 for the second and 1000 for a third one that will be released later, maybe with Thieves Guild, and that male versions of them will be released along the time of Thieves Guild release as well.

My reasoning behind this guess is that ZOS released the three Breton and Orc outfits on that fashion (although they announced all of them at once), the ones on this page, and the female Redguard outfits kinda look like female versions of the male Redguard outfits on this page too.

Message? Why would costumes like this have any sort of message? They're Redguard cultural attire. That's it. There's no message.

One thing I really would love to see more is the costumes from the crown store in use by NPCs... all those nobles in the DC questlines, and none of them are showing off what players too could wear for a handful of crowns... (which would also make the costumes way more in-game immersion interesting!)

The Argonian dance is... embarrassing. And badly animated at that. The speed of the dance seems completely out of proportion to actual physical movement unless you're trying to burn as many calories as possible.

I'd love to see the racial dances improved, and even given the option to interact with other players.

The Redgard males already have a few outfits already if you've done the DC quests and have a male.
These are a few that you can keep after doing the quests.

These are some old photos. Some have been changed, especially the top but there are three that males can use now...not sexy tho

These outfits (especially the third) seem to be at least vaguely inspired by Almalexia's outfit, so the epaulets are kind of part of the look.

I kinda wish they would add a toggle option for Epaulettes and those odd little Hip Hugger things that just float there. Like helms, they can be a bit of a distraction for some people's appearance. Not all, but some.

Also, I'm totally on board with the "let's make sexy clothes for the menfolk" too. No, I don't mean wearing the dress. ;P There are good examples, both concept art and floating about in real world examples, so there's no shortage of inspiration, and I forsee the devteam working towards that somewhat.

I'm also on board with the dye-able costumes. I had posted somewhere else about revamping the costume system into a secondary vanity slot-grouping, costumes actually being costume pieces (0 value, bound to account) that you can pull as many copies from as you need (and destroy the extras) so you can dye them and equip them to the vanity slots. The main downside was a possible devaluing of motif books, if regular equipment can be equipped to those slots as well (which I'd recommend, as it would permit mixing of pieces for "just the right look"). The dev cycle to implement such a change might be a bit long, especially with other things taking priority, so I'm not pushing or rallying for it.

sometimes it's all too much.
i don't want to look like a radioactive late 70's gene simmons.
that's why i like to wear low key costumes.
none of the glam armor for me.

I love the idea of these. This sort of thing is exactly what I have wanted.

But why - why why why - is everything always purple!!!!

It's the colour I loathe the most.

What's wrong with royal blue, a nice scarlet, greens etc?

Please let us dye the costumes like yesterday or throw out your pot of purple paint.
