Copying game contents to another computer

Is it possible to avoid waiting until the game is downloaded by simply copying it from another computer? I bought my game using a key and my friend bought it through Steam, but his download speed is really slow. Can I copy my game to his computer? Will it work on Steam? Or can I at least copy only the needed content after my friend installed the game, but not updated it yet?

Yes, it's possible. I've done in on a couple of occasions for my wife and myself when reinstalling ESO on new computers. There are two folders that need to be moved, one in the /documents folder called "Elder Scrolls Online", the other in /Program Files (x86)/ called "Zenimax Online". The one in the documents folder is mainly the settings and add-on's, and of course, those in Program Files are the executables and game data files. After both folders have been moved, you still need to download and run the ESO installer. You can get this by logging into your ESO web account and you will find a link for it there. The installer will add the Launcher, make whatever settings are needed in the registry, extract and install whatever files are needed for DirectX, and the Microsoft C++ Redistributals. Once you have that done, you should be able to bring up the Launcher and it will go right into the "Play" mode without needing to download another file.

Keep in mind that the executables folder is fairly large, so you will need at least a 64GB thumb drive, preferably USB 3.0 for the faster transfer rates. Also, if you have both the normal game AND the PTS (Public Test Server) installs, the thumb drive will need to be bigger :)
