    People still have lag issues in cyrodiil. When the lag hits, running at 14 FPS is better than running at 4 FPS, & so on... These tweaks can net you a good 10-15 FPS & the network tweaks from Microsoft can get you an extra 15-20 ms shaved off.

    I wouldn't recommend doing tweaks like this with the servers down and the inability to test them. If a person made a bunch of tweaks at once and one of them causes a problem, it'll be very difficult to find the tweak that's causing a problem. That's why it's better to make tweaks a little at a time and test them immediately after making changes.

    The add-on updates are prob the best use of time. I finally downloaded minion during this to update mine.

    Many of mine were out of date. Still waiting on an FTC update though.

    I know my character does not like fire because I am a vampire, but I think my computer does not like fire either.

    I have a very good graphics card, but if I have my graphic setting higher than medium and I see fire, my game crashes. Any advice on that? or am I stuck using medium graphics settings?

    first thing that comes to mind is the distortion effect that flames give off. I want to say that you can disable it, try that out and see if it works

    I did the following and now npc's don't load. Not merchants, not monsters, none. I still get hit in combat though.

    It's too bad to since the changes seemed to improve FPS on my i3-2120, GTX 560 TI, beast. :o

    There is no reason why npc shouldn't be loading with the above mentioned changes, however feel free to try things one at a time to determine the issue. I've changed about 100 different players profiles to what I listed above & none seem to be having issues.
    I would start off troubleshooting by playing with these settings: (turning them on to 1, one at a time)

    SET SOFT_ALPHA "0"

    SET CHARACTER_LIGHTING "0"

    Your original set of options caused several weird things to happen. In the settings menu, the view distance went to maximum, water reflection was high, and the bloom and other toggles were all on. Texture was blank, not low, medium or high, it was actually blank. I logged in again and only the npc's in the immediate area loaded. I went to fight a zombie and it was invisible. Doing a /reloadui only loading the immediate area. I'll go back to my backup and keep farting with it using your settings.
