    So, EU re-boot completes ~15:30 Eastern, then an hour for NA, nets to 16:30 Eastern at soonest?

    So sad, as I have several long processes to execute at work, and they must be run serially, so I have some nice downtime to kill...

    Wonder why this would be necessary for servers located on two different continents?

    Roughly, yes. We want to make sure all issues are clear on PC EU first before bringing PC NA back up, so while it may not be exactly an hour, that's a decent estimate at this time.

    Sounds to me Gina like you don't have proper redundancies. These downtimes are atrocious. Either your IT server team needs to be replaced, or their budget is a joke. How many years can we continue pretending this is OK?

    You really think this game will exist very long past 2016?

    FYI this is why some of the player base gets frustrated. We hit a "snag" doesn't tell us anything. Your communication style or lack there of sucks.

    There are plenty of competent server engineers that you should hire and layoff the current staff. I know if I went to my boss and said "Hey guys sorry no server access today I hit a "snag" last night" I'd be looking for a new job.

    And as far as "this isn't normal" yeah it is normal. Not this long but it is a bad habit that ZOS says x will take y time and they rarely meet that time table. Also, I don't care if they are on the money 100% of the time before this (they are not by a wide margin) it's this situation and the serious BS they shovel that is annoying.

    I doubt ZOS employees are going to their boss and saying, "Hit a snag." They are giving a detailed explanation of what went wrong, how they plan to fix it, and how they plan to avoid it in the future. Because that is their boss and coworker. We are not. They are under no requirement to give a full account of their entire server infrastructure, code base, database design, networking, firewalls, latest OS patch level, etc., etc. All of which might be necessary to understand the problem. They have better things to do than essentially give new employee training to the entire forum.

    You are right they are under no requirement, but it sure would be nice and helpful to it's customers instead of the BS they keep trying to shovel. It's called transparency and customer service/retention. You know actually caring about the people that pay their salaries.

    Exactly... I work in IT for a Fortune 100 public utility. If the servers don't work, the lights don't stay on. If anyone from IT was EVER stupid enough to say they "hit a snag", it would be the last one they'd ever have a chance to hit. As I said in an earlier post, it's called establishing, and adhering to, very strict change management procedures and maintenance windows. Furthermore, I'd think it would be very important for the game developers and staff to minimize this sort of crap, since their numbers are directly related to customer satisfaction, word of mouth, etc. I just don't see why they can't set up and OPENLY COMMUNICATE routine, planned maintenance activity. Everyone else can...

    I am confused on the announcement... First post we are told NA has to wait for reboot of EU. Second post says maintenance of EU is officially starting... So is it reboot or maintenance that we have to wait for?

    I am now starting to get annoyed with this 12 hr maintenance. Takes a lot to get me to that point to. I hope next Monday we do NOT see any downtime. Hopeful anyway.

    why does the distinction matter? They're rebooting, they gave a rough time frame. Maintenance tends to be 6-8 hours normally, they haven't done it in at least 3 weeks... so.... instead of losing 18-24 hours of game play we're losing....a total of likely 16 hours....we're still on a net time profit.
