Believe me, I feel you there. Been waiting since I sent the grandkids off to school at 8am. Did all the housework, tried watching the first episode of Colony, which I thought sucked, rated some *** vids, looked for a decent pirated copy of The Force Awakens (Although after reading the book I already know how it ends.) and now I'm just spinning the after 1pm wheels...

So, they only have one game under their belt. And it's an MMO. Not an easy undertaking.

This might be true. But I'd hope that the team ZOS hired to do the technical work has had previous experience running persistent online services. This isn't a new groundbreaking kind of thing they're doing here. It's a bunch of realtime databases and math calculations, like most online services. Any business need to be cost-effective and has to consider the bottom line, but when you are purchasing a service, it's fair to wonder about how they are managing their resources. Do they have a shoestring server budget? Were design decisions based on predictions that turned out of be inaccurate? Can we get a little more than Soon™?

If there were a four hour maintainence every week, same time, same place, this would be a non-issue. But this is unusual. When you have irregular downtime along with long-standing server issues like poor Cyrodiil performance, you do start to wonder about the state of the game. With more communication, we might say, "ZOS we love ESO and we're willing to buy subscriptions and crowns to generate more revenue for you to hire talent, buy hardware, upgrade providers, or whatever it is you need to do to resolve issues in lieu of new content if necessary." But when we don't have any idea what's happening, all I can imagine are lots of cats in a server room somewhere.

But yes, it's amusingly contradictory. They hate that game but find any downtime unbearable... We are "fanboys" but we don't act like we've run out of air to breathe when the servers are down.

I think there was a misunderstanding.

ZOS was going to START NA PC/MAC maintenance at 1:00 Eastern after the consoles were up. LOL

At least I could finish a playthrough of Chrono Trigger in my smartphone I was procrastinating for a long time
