You get free toilet paper in the way of Mercenary pages. Since they don't really sell anymore due to over-saturation, you always get that free two-ply bonus!DRXHarbinger wrote: »They'll need a much better incentive inside them though, Legendary shoulders should do it, but give the bosses 50% more health to compensate for it.
lol here's the difference between a primarily PVP player and a primarily PVE player. 200-250K AP sounds like a ridiculously high amount to spend on something to me, even if it's best in slot gear. 200-250K gold sounds like a relatively reasonable amount to spend on best in slot gear to me.GreenSoup2HoT wrote: »The only thing bugging me is the price. 1 million ap for a undaunted piece? That's quiet a lot of pvp in my opinion. It would really suck not having enough ap and there is Molag kena divine's for sale and you have 200k ap. No way your gonna get 800k in 2 day's.

250k gold sound's good to me. That's still a ton of gold.

The saturation of Mercenary pages is great for those of us with multiple characters who do pledges - it means we can learn pages on all of our characters and always have a good chance of getting laurels. You get free toilet paper in the way of Mercenary pages. 1:03:50 which is where new merchant come's in.
To some it up:
-AP or Gold VERY HIGH COST
-Could be Helm or Shoulder but also crafted set's like hunding rage.
-There's a designated location for each faction.
-There's a standard schedule (not finalized yet). He/She stay's for 2 day's each week.
Also to add to what op has asked.
Daily key run's are staying and probably going to be a more practical way of receiving undaunted set's. You have 7 day's in which you can get key's. Also you can farm bosses for the helmet's.
It could be several week's before you get the thing you want from this new merchant. He/She could sell crafted set's for 2 week's straight for all we know.
However for player's like me who hate pve with a passion, it's nice to be able to finally pick up a monster set or two will any ap or gold i have when the time come's.
The only thing bugging me is the price. What is expensive to you guys?

Both are forms of character progression. You have to earn skills. You have to earn gear. Both do special little things and add numbers to your character. In both cases your "best in slot" can be either gear or skills that you have to earn. In one case you have an item that adds stats and has an ability. In the other you have an ability you activate. Both very similar. In the case of the Molag Kena 2 piece, you actually trigger the ability yourself which is pretty much an extra skill you have available to you.
You still have to earn the gear now you have to gather the necessary AP for it.You are still earning the gear by during PVP. What PVEr want is to do nothing and earn skills which is not the same thing with gear.I don't care what you say its not the same thing your still earning gear just by PVPing instead of running dungeons.Earn your skills and PVP.redspecter23 wrote: »NO its not its gear can not be comparable to skills am not sure how to say this any other way their no where near the same thing.YOu have to earn skills gear you should be able to get the way you like to play.cosmic_niklas_93b16_ESO wrote: »Because Skills and gear are two completely different things.IF you want skills you should have to earn them so PVP.cosmic_niklas_93b16_ESO wrote: »GreenSoup2HoT wrote: »kevlarto_ESO wrote: »are they selling both helm and shoulders ? thought I read or heard it will be only one piece of the set.

Yeah, unfortunately PvPers can't get that past their thick anti-PvE mindset which makes them unable to see anything in a reasonable way, it's all just PvPPvPPvPPvPPvP on repeat in their heads without any regard to overall balance or fairness in the game. They just want all the good things from PvE for free so that they can PvP without having to do what they don't like while not allowing the same for PvErs.
Items that depend on RNG =/= Helping your Alliance win the war that's pretty much the main background of this game.cosmic_niklas_93b16_ESO wrote: »So why should PvPers that hate PvE with a passion get to skip what they hate when the reverse is not allowed apparently when many PvErs want to skip PvP which is what they hate? In the case of the Molag Kena 2 piece, you actually trigger the ability yourself which is pretty much an extra skill you have available to you.No its common sense if you want skills do the content earn the skills and stop crying. Also its not for free we have to play for it we have to farm AP to get the gear.We are earning our gear just like you.cosmic_niklas_93b16_ESO wrote: »redspecter23 wrote: »NO its not its gear can not be comparable to skills am not sure how to say this any other way their no where near the same thing.YOu have to earn skills gear you should be able to get the way you like to play.cosmic_niklas_93b16_ESO wrote: »Because Skills and gear are two completely different things.IF you want skills you should have to earn them so PVP.cosmic_niklas_93b16_ESO wrote: »GreenSoup2HoT wrote: »kevlarto_ESO wrote: »are they selling both helm and shoulders ? thought I read or heard it will be only one piece of the set.
1 million ap for a undaunted piece? That's quiet a lot of pvp in my opinion. It would really suck not having enough ap and there is Molag kena divine's for sale and you have 200k ap. No way your gonna get 800k in 2 day's.
What about the gold price though? I've never had more then 200k gold. At the moment i have like 20k. There's nothing to sell really. I guess it'll be a different story once there's new pvp set's. I'll be able to sell shadowwalker again etc.
250k gold sound's good to me. That's still a ton of gold.
So why should PvPers that hate PvE with a passion get to skip what they hate when the reverse is not allowed apparently when many PvErs want to skip PvP which is what they hate? Hypocrisy at it's best.
It IS the same thing though, if you want to have a monster helm, earn it by PvEing. It's the only grind that can be remotely comparable to the PvP grind.

You're right.
When pvp players want meteor, they can completely skip the most boring grind in the game of collecting lorebooks.
When they want dawnbreaker, they rank fighters guild up quick enough by only completing.
Their class skills definitely, 100% rank up very very fast in pvp.
And you can easilly level up to vet16 in two weeks in pvp.
You're totally right man. Why should PvPers buy gear in pvp? Pve players can't buy the pvp set's like arch mage from guild traders.
You're bang on, hypocrisy at it's absolute finest!!

I'd concider it fair if maxing those took just as long as Alliance ranks, but tell me, how long does it take to max alliance rank to max? As it takes like 2-3 days at max to get both fighter's and mages guild lines to max, maybe a week or two for undaunted. Can I max Alliance war rank in 3 weeks? No? Then I suggest you go somewhere else with your failed argument.
Leveling up class lines in PvP is possible, so that's not comparable to something that's got 0% chance to rank up in PvE.
Grinding levels is the same, you can do it in PvP, as far as I'm aware.
And with the set gear that's BoE that's tradable, I don't know why you even try to compare with BoP gear that you should only be able to do by putting in effort through dungeons, and for PvPers to do something they don't like if they're hellbent on making PvErs suffer.
So yes, PvPers are hypocrites. I'll stand by that and you can dislike that if you want, see if I care.

Well to get meteor you actually need to complete the main questline and unlock silver fir starters.
You can get vigor within a week easilly. I've done it plenty of times.
It would take way longer to get all class lines to 50 than to unlock magica det.
The xp you get in pvp is miniscule in comparison to pve. It would take forever to get to v16 in pvp. And I mean actually PvPing, not doing PVE in Cyrodiil.
It would also be a lot quicker to grind dungeons for the helmet you want than to earn 1 million plus ap that it will cost from the vendor.
I play both. I'm not a PvPer or pve player. I play both almost equally now. I've got 4 toons to vr16 already, so played a lot more pve then pvp. I have almost every monster helm set and do the pledges almost daily. I don't need the vendor. I can just see things from a pvp only player and understand their point. By the way, nobody was really asking for this. There was no QQ threads about it.
A lot of people argue they should get alliance skills without playing pvp. That's a skills vs gear argument. If you said you want pvp gear like ravager without PvPing, i'd get it. But skills vs gear argument is void.
Apples and oranges.

But pvp players aren't getting pve skills. It's pve gear. That's why it's an irrelevant argument. If they made pvp gear available to pve players it'd be the same thing (that gear is BoE so can be obtained from guild stores anyway). Skills are completely different though.
I appreciate how much of a chore it would be to unlock pvp skills if you hate PvP. But just think how much of a chore it also is for a pvp player player to fully flesh out a vr16.
You have to do pve for skill points, earn significant xp (which Cyrodiil does not give) to max out weapon and class skill lines, unlock mage guild (come on, that lorebooks farming is by far the most boring grind ever, even for pve players it must be) and fighter's guild 10, do dungeons for max undaunted, collect skyshards, have at least one toon competed silver to access mats for later vet levels, farm alchemy ingredients to make potions, farm nodes to get tempers etc
Pvp players have to do a lot of pve anyway. They cannot completely skip pve.
Like I said, I play pvp and pve both. I've done way more pve than pvp. Now I just want to pvp as pve (aside from pledges) offers me no satisfaction as I've got four vr16s. Yet when I make a new toon I still have to do a lot of pve before I'm competitive in pvp.
And running dungeons 60+ times to get the helm (Yes you engine guardian) is not fun for pve players either. There is an option to buy helms with gold, not just ap. So it isn't completely biased towards PvPers. Pve players can not get stuck in the rng grind, earn gold however they want and buy the set they want. I honestly don't see any unfairness with the vendor.
I apologise for the sarcasm and bluntness in my initial post, but I'm sick and tired of seeing the same thing being said when in my opinion it's not even a valid comparison and complete disregard for how much pve everyone had to do in the game to achieve a HUGE amount of things.
