Is there going to be a fix for this FPS bug next patch?

Cause this is really as bad as the lighting patch was at this point

After just a few minutes of pvp it goes from 50+ fps to less then 20 and stays there no matter what.

Its very clear its from PvP cause its not happening in PVE..

Not quite as bad as the lightning patch (2-3 FPS :)) but i can confirm the FPS drops as low as 12 for me in large fights, and then stays low even after the fight ends and i am in an empty area. Relogging sets it back to 50-ish.

It's constantly at 20-24 FPS for me which is playable(barely). Biggest issue for me is the broken left click bug. Can't break free, can't block, can't overload or light/heavy attack. Only fix is reloading UI....and you usually don't know it's broken until you need it(in combat).

It happens to me literally 10-15 times an hour and is the worst bug I've experienced in this game. Half of my deaths some nights are because of this....just stupid.

And ZoS or no one else has even acknowledged it so I'm F'ed. I'm really getting fed up with the freaking complete and total lack of response from ZoS on these combat bugs. Fix your flipping game!

Don't think i've gotten that one yet....But the FPS makes the game unplayable for me...Before the last couple patches I got 60+ fps in pretty much every fight...now its just god awful all the time.

Hasn't happened to me yet. You could at least work around not being able to break free by mapping break free to a keyboard button i guess...

Oh its happening alright. I immediately notice this bug when i res and i can't even light attack or weapon zap. My right left click broke. Only /reloadui fixes this which is a pain in the ass during a fight.

Hmm, i do have an after-rez issue sometimes, but that one can be fixed by doing one dodge roll and swapping weapons back and forth(don't laugh, it really works :)).

Maybe it would fix your issue as well? Give it a try.

Honestly if its not fixed next patch i'm probably going to cancel and move on

Last time there was an FPS problem I couldn't pvp for like a bloody month or two before they fixed the problem..and the reason i play this game is to pvp

That was also when they were actually patching constantly...If they don't fix it next patch it'll probably be another 3 months..and i simply refuse to pay them for PvP not being playable for 3 months

Might be time to upgrade your Processor, Video card, and hard drive. I get 60 FPS everywhere in game until Wrothgar in prime time and Cyrodiil in prime time. Then it drops due to players being around; so began saving up some money and now have enough dollars, gonna search this week for an upgraded video card. Currently have a 2GB card, gonna get a 4GB card and install another 6GB of RAM into my system. Hopefully, maybe, that'll help with game performance.

It seems ZOS wants you to have a state of the art computer to play ESO, which is odd because MMO's are usually the least intensive games I play due to them wanting large populations to play the game, so they tailor it to lower end systems.

That bug is pretty horrible, happens every now and again and for some reason for me it's linked to the mini stun from gap closers. Not sure if it's the same one as what you're talking about though, but if the gap closer interrupts bar swaps, I can't use left click, or sometimes I can't do anything at all. Just have to run around and try to avoid damage until either I can reload ui or relog.

I've had this many times as well. Luckily my break free and interrupt are not bound to LMB + RMB, so I don't realize it until I can't select a keep to port to. Seems to happen only after large fights, but at random even then.

    There's always (at least) one....

This fps bug was caused in an update. One day, 60 fps constantly even in fights at prime time, the only problem being the usual lag.

    Enter update.

Next day, 50-60 fps on load, 20 or less after the first big fight, regardless of ping, and only reloading the game fixes it....until the next big fight of course.

Yeah sounds like a CPU/GFX card issue. Thanks.

This bug is not near as bad as we've had in the past. Still, unacceptable. However, I can see @Psilent 's point. I recently upgraded and never have this problem anymore. Always above 30, and recovers to 60+ after fights.

True, the lighting patch was diabolical. A introduced bug is unacceptable in any event, however; it is not made more palatable by comparing it to something worse.

I don't see his point at all. If I can get 60 fps on Monday, I want 60 fps on Tuesday. My less than 2 year old GTX770 was not rendered obsolete in the space of 24 hours and 1 careless patch... particularly as it can play FO4 at 60 fps.

The problem, as always, is with ESO, not our hardware.

If its not the end user, then what could it be? If this is on Zenimax's side, it should have been fixed back in August when IC was released, not still be an ongoing issue. What company in their right mind who wants to make a profit will let the end user experience FPS loss to below 30 on top end systems?

The only real explanation is Cyrodiil requires very powerful end game systems to run it, which just boggles my mind because most people who will buy this game can't afford systems that cost 5 to 10k like hardcore players and I almost feel like that's what you need to play Cyrodiil flawlessly.

This is a game bug, not a hardware issue. It's very clear to observe. When it is triggered, my frame rate drops by about 50% no matter where I am in Cyrodiil or what is happening around me. It usually happens after a large fight such as a keep defense.

Once the bug is triggered, if I travel to an empty part of the map where my fps would normally be 100, it will be at around 50. There is also observable microstutter that would not normally be present at 50 fps.

The problem is always fixed by restarting the client. Others have reported zoning fixes the issue too.

I am sensitive to changes in frame rate and play with high mouse sensitivity. I notice it immediately. It gives me a headache if I try to play through it.

There have been several other threads about it.

Thanks.

So the latency is an issue client side aswell?

 If only everyone followed your brave example, there would never be any lag and we would be riding unicorn mounts through fields of rainbows.

Are you sure it's not your mouse? Never had or heard of this one.

    @TheBull

Definitely not my mouse. I've bought and tried 3 of them. Happens to them all. Razer Naga, Razer Hex, and Mx518. If it were a mechanical issue it would make zero sense for /reloadui to fix it.

I started feeling sick Sat night, playing on Haderus with a constant 20 FPS or less before I logged.

My guild is turning to Rocket League as a more enjoyable alternative to ESO.

I noticed same thing often. You can emulate it if use heavy attacks on one of the boss when he still on tree under shield protection in Selene Web dungeon.
