Hello all

First of all, all the best wishes for the new year!

A week ago a started with eso again and build a Sorcerer High elf. I mainly want to focus on Tanking/DPS in PVP environments.

Now i reached level 10 by hack n slashing through the game because i have absolutely no idea what skill lines i should go for. So i have a few questions for you guys and hoping to get a some replies:

Could someone give me an example of 2 weapon/skill bars i could use?
This way i can start leveling some skills that suit my Tank/dps playstyle.

Is crafting really that important and what is important to know about it?

Somehow i got 2000 crowns on my account when i should have got 700 that came with the game. What is best to spend it on?

And last... A friend of mine starts playing aswell. Do he needs to pick the same class race etc in order for us to play together?

Much thanks guys! Xoxo

    Welcome to ESO.

You are still very new, unless you decide to venture into non-vet PvP immediately, there isn't much need to look into builds. You should however start to learn game mechanics and understand why people build the way they build. Deltia has some solid beginner's guides as well as some decent builds (though mostly for endgame). You can also check out Tamriel Foundry, which has a lot of information as well, though some of it is better than others.

    As for your specific questions:
    • As an altmer sorc, you should just stick to Destro/Resto staff, especially for PvP.
    • Crafting is very useful. You can buy services from other crafters, but it's much more convenient to be at least somewhat self-sufficient. Start researching your traits straight away. Since a friend started with you, you guys should specialise and cover all professions between you. It's all useful.
    • Your friend doesn't need to pick the same class/race. But you guys do need to pick the same alliance.
    • Crowns store doesn't really offer anything that enhances performance. So just save it until you see something you really want. In my opinion it's a waste to buy stuff like xp boost scrolls and potions since u can craft or buy them ingame. A bear mount on the other hand (purely cosmetic, no functional difference to standard horse)... only available in crown store.
