When the option is to either buff EVERYTHING but one or nerf only one thing, which is easier? Buffing all the other classes includes buffing the difficulty of, everything else in the game. Every mod, every trap, every situation were damage and health matter would need to be relooked otherwise the buffs to all the classes would make the difficulty even more of a joke. Also I seem to recall that in the past there were many vocal players who would hijack threads to make sure everyone knew about their broken class, and I don't recall them showing any concern for the other classes when the shoe was on the other foot.

So you're saying the devs should be lazy, go for the easiest solution and let everything go to waste and lose players who quit this game cuz their class got nerfed to Oblivion?
Sorry, but I prefer a dev team that cares and players that smile. The extra effort from ZOS and a more positive attitude from the playerbase feels much better

So you prefer the devs spend their time balancing everything to raise the playing field up to NB's, taking significantly more time, energy, and resources, rather than bringing things on the extreme edges back into line? In the end NB's will be in line, we don't need game wide number inflation to do that. And that goes for what things are currently overpowered or over-performing.

If the other classes are boosted, the NB will be in line as well. Only then without the QQ.
There's nothing extreme about a NB either: we do our jobs as an assassin, we can run viable Magicka & Stamina builds in both PvE and PvP,...
The other classes need buffing as well, they need to be able to properly do their jobs and be viable with both types of builds.
Is it really that hard to think positive for a change? Or shall we continue the NERF-trend and kill this game?

If - all classes are buffed - Then - ALL pve content in the entire game, including cyrodiil and IC will need to be completely rebalanced. Do you seriously think ZOS is in the position to rebalance the entire game again in any time frame just to avoid the oh so evil Nerf? Balance comes from both buffs and nerfs, the fact that anything that even sounds like a nerf must by nature be evil is why we won't see more rapid balance in game, that and ZOS's relatively slow speed when it comes ot patches.

Honestly, a rebalancing of lots of things (not everything) is WAY better than to see a large portion of the playerbase leaving this game behind.
A majority of the playerbase are NB, either legitimate players who like the class itself or bandwagoners since they think the class is "OP". And a lot of these players spent weeks/months on getting their char to the lvl it is now. When the nerfhammer hits, a lot of them will leave. They'll be tired of the continuous nerfing and the wrecking of their class.
Now, if ZOS rebalances things, they're not gonna do it in 1 go obviously. First the classes should get balanced (by buffing DK and Temps) then the game should follow over a timeframe.
BTW, who says the game is gonna need rebalancing if the classes get buffed? A bit of buffing isn't gonna make the game easier ya know.
Also, through the amazing power of buffing, the playing field in Cyrodiil and in the PvE zones will become even again as players once again resume the game with their DK or Templar when they're buffed, NB's won't have to QQ and in general everybody will be better off...
Don't be so negative. I'm pretty sure ZOS realizes this as well, especially with the Great Class Overhaul coming up. They'll prob try to tweak the NB a bit and put the other classes on the same lvl.

1.) MMO's by their nature and expected life span will change. If people don't like change they shouldn't be playing this kind of game.
2.) 'A majority of the playerbase are NB' is not something I would argue with as it can likely be accurate, its hard not to be a popular class with the best array of passives and a wide array of viable and powerful skills, but isn't a problem when that is the most popular class and people get tired of fighting them so much more than most anything else?
I can't enjoy a fight with nb's in pvp anymore since they are overplayed so much. That is frustrating, and with how vocal the NB community is on the forums it is very unlikely that things will change. NB's have gotten mostly bug fixes and buffs since day one, that is bound to change and as in point 1, this is an MMO and things are bound to change.
3.) You can't balance a game only with buffs without expecting major changes to large areas to keep the playing field leveled. Nerfs are needed for balance, and NB's have long since avoided them. I don't have faith in the combat team to do what needs to be done, after their track record, delays, clear disconnects from the community and game, as well as doing the exact opposite of what they said they were going to do, I do not expect this coming patch to change any of that, or they will and things will just get flipped entirely on its head for another fun year in a meta people will quickly grow to distaste.
We are close to balance, with some major buffs needed in some areas, but you don't get a balanced game from only buffs, nor do you get a balanced game by rebalancing it every half a year. Nerfs have their place, but first ZOS needs to show they can rebalance the game without breaking how it works.

well thank you sir. Once other classes are balanced... i think the cry for nerfs will stop.

Someone here said something a long time ago about zeni's approach to class and weapon balance, and it stuck with me. It's like they're looking at 2 sticks, let's say 1.3 DK and NB sticks. And they see that the DK stick is much longer. So they snap it in half, and put an extender on the NB stick. And when the nb stick is much longer than the dk stick, they pat themselves on the back for bringing the dk into balance.
Rather than small tweaks, they seem to favor sweeping changes that nerf one direction and buff the other at the same time, just creating new imbalances.

Does no one remember the sap tank/fear monster that was a light armor S&B nightblade that quickly found its place next to light armor DK?
