    Also, the devs mentioned on ESO live that gated acess campaigns work exactly like the do now, they encouraged players to capture the ring then leave their toons in IC so that once they ring flips back they can go hunt stones from that opposing faction. I'm sorry to hear you lost your stones but that is how this zone is intended to function. The added risk of other players makes sense in IC as you get some of the best sellable loot in the game from their. Just like cyrodiil dolmens are the only ones that drop v16 lich gear, it's supposed to be dangerous. No risk no reward.

    Please link the video where they encourage people to leave toons.

    I don't think the silliest of you two is @joshdm2001_ESO . Reading before answering could help you understanding the situation much better.

    OP thought IC was locked for other factions = safer for his faction = PvP-free, and it's perfecly legit to think this way because that's how it was described by ZOS in their very first versions of gated campaigns (August on PTS).

    It would have been very silly to bank those stones because he had just taken them OUT OF the bank into his inventory to benefit from the multiplier.

    I did that too. Because I thought just like him. I was very surprised when I was ganked by a red. And very relieved when I won the fight. OP wasn't that lucky, that's all.

    If I remember right, when IC went to PTS they tested several different methods of locking out IC for one or more factions. In the PTS patch notes they did explain how faction locks would operate, i.e. people who were in IC when it flipped wouldn't get kicked. So if my memory serves, yeah the information was out there and this is functioning as intended.

    That said, I wouldn't mind a notice that you aren't necessarily safe behind the lock.

    Then again, it is a PVP-enabled zone... So that's kind of implied.

    When in cyro/IC I live by one rule: There's always a nightblade.

    There's 4 campaigns for pvp. Stones are available inside a pvp zone. Players kill players in pvp. You died because you got complacent and you're being nieve. It's been known since before IC launch that locked access means you can no longer get INTO IC if your faction does not own its home keeps. And it was explicitly stated that people already in IC would not get kicked out.

    Take responsibility for your mistake and prepare better the next time you go farm. If not, I'll cap my home keeps in axe and teach you to be prepared.

    The issue is broader I guess. ZOS persists (and I approve that) in wanting to mix PvP and PvE, making the two playstyles coexist in harmony in the same game world.
    But quite a few players (if not many) don't enjoy this "mix" and tend to be agressive towards the "other side" . For instance PvE-ers are convinced that many balance issues and changes are centered around PvP needs and hurt PvE (and vice-versa), PvEers find it hard to accept that they can be attacked in PvP zones even if they're questing, etc... even if many players do both PvP and PvE, the coexistence of both "worlds" and "cultures" is quite difficult. And PvPers tend to react totally out of proportion as soon as PvE-ers even remotely suggest that PvP-risk could be reduced, no matter how. It's like they're literraly starving and PvE-ers are their daily bread :-)

    Proof please ? If it was so explicit, you must have a proof somewhere. And I don't think "the majority of players" were aware of this.
    Fact is , the rules for gated campaigns have changed several times during PTS and weren't even there when IC was released. The first gated campaign came much later. Please show me in what patch note that was explicitely explained, before being so judgemental. Thank you.

    You answered your own question. The last pts build before IC was launched, would have the information you seek. Or, the previous set of notes if no other campaign lock change was made. Also the dozens of threads asking about campaign locks within the PTS forum as well as questions asked an answered on ESO live.

    It isn't my responsibility to spoon feed you information we all have access to. Use the search function. Google. Whatever.

    I can't imagine it being this hard to comprehend that I and many others knew about this and you didn't. If you didn't know about it. It's your fault. Not ZOS', the player who killed you or anyone elses. Sack up.

    You shouldn't be able to respawn in the sewers if your entrance is locked, but they'll never make it so you get kicked out when the entrance flips... So you should always be on high awareness when in IC. Use the buddy system, bank the stones you're not willing to risk, and keep your RML burning...

    Duh. Patch notes didn't define faction lock as gated access but under certain conditions. Faction lock is faction lock. It makes no sense that people can remain hence my post. If people can remain and gank to their Hearts content this isn't really faction lock now is it. And this campaign should serve a different purpose. We can go around around but bottom line this needs to be fixed or Zos should be more transparent in its logic.

    They will never make it so the opposing factions are kicked out.

    It seems like all these AD are hating life now that some of us got inside of the IC. Nothing you can do will make us leave and we all have the right to be in there seeing as we legitimately got in there. You had weeks of free roam in there and now you don't.

    Your assumption that there would be no other faction in the sewers was wrong and will always been wrong. Hundreds of players cap their home keeps in axe to go kill AD in those sewers. Welcome to PvP.

    Every now and then some guild goes and grabs all home keeps back to their faction in axe. then aLOT of people go in the imperial city / sewers and jsut stay there . some even log out. And as long as the campaing is not full for them once they log back (very rare, given AD's presence there) they'll still be in there. they will just not be able to go back in, if they die/leave.

    Yeah, if they technically can't make it so you don't respawn in the sewers only when your gate is locked, I would totally accept being dumped at the cyrodiil gates every time I died, to mobs or players. With a short res-timer so you can only sit there waiting for your buddy for a couple minutes.

    I've been in Axe for a while and it does suck to finally pin a NB down and kill him, watch his body release, and then he's back at the ladder in 5 minutes...

    Explicit = mentioned in patch notes.
    It wasn't.

    It says "you will not be able to access IC unless you meet the requirements ... blabla".
    Not being able to access "if not" IMPLIES being kicked out "if not".
    Any other interpretation has to be made EXPLICITELY. It hasn't.

    And all other media don't count because you see, some of us have lives and don't want to spend hours upon hours reading everything single detail on forums or ESO Live.

    Now let me remind you that we were not complaining, just wondering... our opinion is and still is that it makes no sense that people can stay in there even after death, basically as long as they want.

    It's really funny how hypersensitive and hyperreactive PvPers become as soon as one square inch of their precious Cyrodiil could be made PvP-immune.


    NB : Subscribers don't need to buy DLC to access DLC. See how wrong your assumptions are.

    In all discussions over the months about gated access, I always thought it means once you die being from the faction that doesn't have it, you are foced to res outside of IC. But no. As always, Zeni comes with solution so stupid I wouldn't even be able to figure it out on my own.

    I kinda want the players to be kicked out when they lose access I wanted to play here because I thought the pact would not have 90 percent of its players in the pact base in the sewers but that's not the case
