ESO and the Hindrances

The current gear grind, champion gap, and mechanics are increasingly frustrating for myself and for many others who play the game. So let me get straight to the point.

No matter how much catch up a person wants to play, they have to play "catch up" in multiple areas.

1) Vet 16 Gear, the mats required for Vet 16 sixteen gear is inappropriate for a person whos profession is not a gamer/streamer. The system was better a few months ago when everyone could get into gold gear in a reasonable amount of time of doing actual grinding. This does not include people who have tons of people to hand them gear.

Its also a hindrance for smaller guilds who are trying to get back up off the ground and cement themselves in, seeing as the only efficient way is Imperial City. The mob placement makes it extremely difficult for anyone trying to get back into the game whos a solo player or small guild player. Especially anyone in Ebonheart who seem to have gotten crap end of the mob placement. Not to mention that Daedra jungle is a monotonous amount of crap and should be reworked entirely. Meaning it should be three banners war, I sent Molag Bal back to his hidey hole where he can stay, he became an obscurity the moment I beat the storyline.

2) Champion Points, I do not give a damn about the catch up system, seeing as the magnitude and power in the system is way to damn powerful.

3) a) Lack of skillful combinations and "powers" yes, I mean from the DC universe. Please, stop with the champ points, never raise the cap, and work on lateral expansion of skills so there is reduce spamming and more thought and emphasis on actually having to pay attention.

The spam is out of control, it's face-roll mechanics to anyone in full gear and champ points press the same buttons for anything in this game.
b) The PvE walls in this game are damned annoying. I never raided in my life, I will never actively raid in my life. I respect PvE'rs desire to kill things in dungeons, respect my desire to earn the best gear through killing other players.

c) Cross-faction mechanics, it is getting annoying. Everywhere in Cyrodiil there are cross faction guilds revealing others, griefing others, and creating a toxic gaming community and environment for any honest player. This was a mistake when it was announced in the beginning, it is still a mistake now. the Three Banners Wars is about THREE factions killing each other.

Finally faction favoritism, its alive, its obvious and its well. Stop.

Regards,
TB3X

    I disagree with most of what you said, but as it's based off my opinion it doesn't deserve much light. However;
Finally faction favoritism, its alive, its obvious and its well. Stop.

    What faction(s) are favored?
I have departed into the great unknown that is outside the game and the forums, and wish you well in your Tamriel adventures!

    DC - PC - EU - Australian
VR11 Mrderrikk: Breton Stam Sorc (Vamp) | VR16 Derrikkinblack: Dunmer Mage DK | VR3 Cuts-Until-It-Dies: Argonian Magicka NB

That is the plan as far I know that CP-system is the main source of power and everybody wants to do it and most importantly gets quite easily, and get it by doing whatever they want to do, whether its PVP or PVE or Raids or Dungeons, whatever works for that specific player, so we dont get too much raging. As for gears I think they are more to be time-fillers.

I think we know alot more when VR-removal happens and how CP-gears are gonna work. CP-gears sounds like they are putting power to gears too. If everything you do gives power, whining is assured. I'd rather choose one thing what gives power and then the rest are some time-fillers.

That's fine, I put in a huge chunk of my hours between my job and between college, where as others who feel time played should be rewarded, I do not, time well spent should be rewarded but one can only afford so much time to a form of entertainment.

I eluded to it in my post, but really in IC, Ebonheart is heavily disfavored, the faction has the worst grind out of the three and is causing a rift especially on the XBox where our numbers are dwindling.

In its current state they are really powerful, if they are the main source of power then at least let the algorithms be appropriate, the math itself really is over the top in its current state.

I know, if Housing is power thing too in the future, thats too much, if CP-system, Gears and Housing all gives power I think thats too much. I'd choose CP-system to be it and make it accessible and easy.

    1) Vet 16 Gear...
Yeah, the materials to craft a neat set are overcharting - to make it just as much effort to craft one then it is to get a full set together with random drops.
But seeing as I just bought a nice set of V16 purple Kyne's Kiss armor for my main character PvP-archery support at a well stocked guild store... all it took was a good chunk of gold, and that's easy enough to earn at V16...
(I also sometimes buy blue stuff cheaper, my crafting alt can upgrade it to purple easy enough)
Now if only the Wrothgar sets weren't BoP... haven't gotten the boots for my briarheart set yet (and half of it is still V15 blue, darn gods of the die roll ;) )
    2) Champion Points...
I love those lil buggers! And I have to say, between enlightment, cap and catchup, its waaaaay better these days. And seeing how they are eventually supposed to replace ALL the veteran rankls anyhow, I see their power balance just right. Especially with the diminishing results from spending them...

People always whine and wail about the champion system, but seem not to notice that while the difference between a 0-cp and a 200-cp character is immense, the difference between a 300-cp character and a 500-cp character is far, far, FAR less. And with the new catchup mechanic, the 0-cp player will get to 300 long before the 200-cp character reached 500 at same playtime.

People just need a bit of persistence, and they will get "close enough" - they might never catch up to those who played a lot longer, but they will cet close enough to be competetive. For example, what does it matter if you meet in PvP, and you need five blows to kill the other guy, while he only needs 4.2 blows to do you in - Victor is still whoever lands that fifth blow.
The spam is out of control, it's face-roll mechanics to anyone in full gear and champ points press the same buttons for anything in this game.
There you have a good point. Some spammings are really getting annoying these days... (cough, wrecking blow, cough).
Makes me wish more skills got the "streak" treatment - increased cost if you use them repeatedly in too short a time frame...
    b) The PvE walls in this game are damned annoying. I never raided in my life, I will never actively raid in my life. I respect PvE'rs desire to kill things in dungeons, respect my desire to earn the best gear through killing other players.
Fun fact - you can. In IC. Farming TV stones.
    ...
    Yeah, its annoying.

I for one would wish the AP-bought gear got upgraded to "current" standards, give out the V12 stuff for cheap, make the V14 stuff cost what the V12 does now, and have the super-high-priced stuff at V16. Make those PvPlayers enjoy earning AP for shopping purposes again!
    c) Cross-faction mechanics...
I kinda agree with that one, wish the guild membership had been per character and guilds faction-locked... not that it would have helped much, since people would have kept alt-ing and playing "undercover" to help their main character guildies.
    Oh, well...
Same for equalness, some factions seem to have advnatages, usually throgh topüography (whoever had the idea to build a keep next to a plateou where all attackers had a superb position to place their siege engines? there is a readon castles in history were usually built on top of hills...). But eh, sucks to be that one, sometimes, but hey, we can call is an extra challenge and move on... ;)

    ...

Farming TV for the new comer is PvE with a chance of a maxed char guaranteed to take your TV stones almost every time.

IC design isn't PvP, it's PvE in Cyrodiil.

    The current gear grind

    wat

I've never played an mmo that had easier gear gain.

True, grinding V16 mats can be a pain. But grinding TV stones for a set and a half took me a week, maybe two (while working 12 hours 4/4 shift).

If anything, this game needs more gear (with random stats, but not bulls-h-i-t traits) that's harder to get your hands on.
Basically, gear needs to be revamped across the board.

But in general I can agree that there are quite a few things ESO needs to sort out.

I am not looking at this from a perspective from an MMO veteran, it took me 5 days to get my gear.

I'm looking at it for the new player, especially for Ebonheart, who has no idea what they're doing.

Sewers are going to deter any new player to this game.

AD and DC are favored before EP.

Look at the Racials, look at the map placement for Sewers.

    Agreed.

IC was a terrible idea imho. It's rubbish even.

To release something so poor in content, something which should've been in the game from the beginning, it kind of mindbogging. Although Orsinium is a far better DLC.

I just hope ESO will get some kind of EXPANSION and not a DLC, meaning a lot of content, gear progression and updates without having to buy bits and pieces.
