Question...is this device not going to build off current tech.
If it requires devs to redo the games, I don't see any current titles that are released supporting this.
Prob 2017 titles would where it makes sense.

@OGLezard , To be clear, the Zenimax in those articles is Zenimax Media not ZOS.
It seems that John Carmac left ID (owned by ZOS at the time) to work on Oculus. Zenimax claims that Carmac pretty much took work from when he was working for ZOS (work they would legally own) with him when he joined Oculus. This "work" could be as simple as concepts that were unique enough in design to be considered proprietary concepts developed by a Zenimax employee. It would be like if the designer of the Champion System (who no longer works for ZOS) took the concept of the Champion System and designed a system with whatever company they now work for that works similarly to the Champion System.
As for PSVR... FFXIV is going to support it so I don't think your reasoning is sound @NewBlacksmurf . I think older games could add support if there is interest and the drive to add to the support. If ZOS ever integrates Oculus support, I would expect that support to be translatable to PSVR.
Personally, I don't see it happening. Mostly because so many other LITTLE details that would need to be fixed if ZOS were to support have yet to be addressed in the past 2 years... like...
And the BIGGEST issue woudl be the lack of Mouse Freelook in First Person. Try this sometime... go in third person, start walking and use mouse-freelook and look around. Your character continues in the same direction it was going and your camera swivels around. Now go into first persona and do the same thing with the mouse freelook button.
WTF? Right? doesn't work the same! First person Mouse Freelook should keep your weapons still while your view looks around, like over your shoulder, but ESO's first person mouse freelook doesn't do that. It just acts as an alternate first person look-around that rubber bands your view back to it's initial orientation once you let go of mouse free-look. In otherwords... it's useless.
And, as you can tell by the links I posted above.... all of these things have been discussed and just about outright ignored by ZOS.
I guess this is just a really long-winded way of saying: "Don't count on it."

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
That's right... Horse.

I predict Half Life 3 is first one to use VR and its not this year, 2016 I mean. VRs cant happen in 2016, otherwise industry would be building hype already. If its approved at Steam it moves to consoles too.
