So do the maelstrom weapons drop only at vr16 or at my char level and do they drop as an end reward or Just a chance of dropping after each round completed from the chests. Or is there something I'm missing. can they drop in normal and vet or just vet?

Baconfat79✭✭✭✭They only drop from Vet mode, and never from the first stages. There is a chance (not guaranteed) that one will drop from the final stage. If you are in the top of the weekly leader boards, you get one in the mail (100% chance). They only come in V16.5
