I just think it's odd that they give us sales and specials for Thanksgiving, but NOTHING for Christmas- which is a much larger holiday for many people than Thanksgiving. Also keep in mind that Christmas is recognized around the world (but not celebrated by every single person), Thanksgiving is a U.S. holiday. I'm not asking for anything free, but if they're going to celebrate one U.S. holiday by offering sales and incentives, they should be doing it for the largest world-wide holiday.

Lore appropriate holidays are good, ones that are a blatant attempt to put RL holidays into ESO are not. I don't know how many times people need to say this, it just seems to go over peoples heads.

Well 'lore wise' there is NO Crown store... and there is also no Thanksgiving, which they already offered a sale, so they already set a precedent. Oh wait, that's right... they called it "Black Fredas" instead, that makes it different. :o

Who said I approved of the Black Fredas sales, or even the Halloween/Witches Festival sales? I'm simply saying that in this game, it's a good thing that they didn't try and muddy the amazing Lore and culture of the game in the name of making money in this instance. I hope in the future they completely ignore RL holidays and stick to the major ones that happen in TES Lore.

Um... I didn't say you approved... I just said they already set a precedent for celebrating RL holidays... which I think is good because NOT EVERYONE knows or cares about ES lore or even knows what holidays are or aren't celebrated within the game. I don't think knowing an entire backstory or even knowing ES history should be a requirement for playing the game... not everyone gets into RP so seriously like others.

Weird that people call it a Thanksgiving sale... black Fredas coincided with black Friday, a major U.S. retail shopping day. It would have been noticed/commented on if there wasn't a sale that day, of all days. The Christmas/ Holiday sale occurred during the free weekend. The crowns were on sale again and the game was discounted. This thread is silly and it sounds like you weren't paying attention to the forums or the website and therefore missed the sale.

I'm only updating this because we're commenting on a thread about signatures. Give me awesomes!

Oh, so our Christmas/Holiday sale happened during the first part of December specifically for 'free weekend'- but we're just going to label it Christmas/Holiday sale because that's how you want to label it? Also, the "Black Fredas" sale started before Black Friday so it could hardly be called a 'Black Friday' sale- but that is how ZOS labeled it so as not to specifically label it a U.S. holiday celebration.

So here is the reality... the THANKSGIVING sale started before Thanksgiving and went through the entire weekend, thus making its scope go beyond just a 'day' sale. Second, the "Free-weekend" sale was never advertised, that I saw, and seemed to me more of a last minute decision than planned IMO. The only way I knew about it was because of other people talking about it on the forums.
