Struggling against multiple mobs

So I just hit vr1 and recently switched from stam to majicka. I am an Imperial Templar and am looking for tips/tricks on how to fight multiple mobs as a cloth wearing majicka templar? What weapon should I be using? What abilities etc?

Do you have Puncturing Sweep? That's all you need really.

But, use the other skills to help you. Open with Blazing Spear for some DoT and CC, then Reflective Light for more DoT and CC, then use Puncturing Sweep to clean up. Easy 1 2 3 rotation, except you should never need to repeat the first two. Slot Inner Light or Structured Entropy or Blazing Shield and Breath of Life if you need to. Well, BoL should be on at least one of your bars.

I can take down any mob group in a Public Dungeon with the above method, same with just about any Boss, Delve or World. Well, not Wrothgar World Bosses.

Nestor's suggestions work pretty well. Gear wise, here's some recommendations:

1: 5 julianos armor, 2 seducer armor, 1 seducer resto staff, 2 seducer swords.

2: 5 Julianos armor, 2 magnus armor, 1 magnus resto staff, 2 magnus swords.

3: 5 Seducer armor, 2 magnus armor, 1 magnus resto staff, 2 magnus swords.

Try option 1. If you don't have any problems with magicka management, try option 2. If you do, You may want to go to option 3.

Yeah puncturing sweeps breath of life and repentance should make it pretty easy

And channeled focus for extra sustain.
Siphon spirit (morph of last skill of resto staff skill line) can help you when youre fighting tough mobs, like world bosses.
Equip inner light on both bars for extra crit chance (and magicka if you have mages guild passives).
Blazing spear is also a decent spell, and it stuns enemy casters (throw it at these pesky enemy healers).
