I can't wait till they get removed. As someone who would like to try all classes at endgame the only thing that's stopping me is the grind. For the sake of my own mental health I cannot sit through all those quests again or worse, grind mobs.

With the new system all I'll need to do is get to 50 which I could tolerate easy.

Wow, just stop all the whining. You can do level 1 to VR16 in two weeks. Just avoid all quests except gold and silver at VR levels (and do main quest line only level 50 and below), and grind aoe spots. It just ain't that hard if you skip the 5 billion time-wasting quests.

I have no problem with VR and I have no problem with removing them. I am fine with the work to get to v16, but I also think being able to go express to max level gear on alts is great.

I just find it questionable that someone would recommend to others that they make a video game suck by grinding XP for 2 weeks. Why should the game not be fun? Why should it be an endurance test? If you want an endurance test, you can choose to go for the fishing achievements.

I can sympathize with those who enjoy leveling and who feel a sense of loss when they have CP capped and 8 characters at v16, have reached the end of the treadmill, and are thinking, "what now"? But suggesting that other people "play a game" by grinding for 2 weeks?

You guys complaining about vr lvls going away are the ones who need to wake up. No matter how we got to this point, vr levels are going away. It's going to happen. It is a good thing. Having 2 separate max lvl of progression makes no since.

This way you still have to lvl to 50 and learn the class. Less likely for people to feel the need to grind to 50. Can lvl ALL your characters at once through the CP system. Getting tired of playing one character then switch to the other and continue to lvl ALL your characters at once.

You no longer have to do the silver/gold if you choose not to. With the catch up mechanic, no one will be behind for long. Its how it is going to be whether you like it or not. Play the game or grind. I would rather play the game. You can do what you want.

Why isn't grinding part of the game, it just annoys me that people who wanted to make alts had to grind/lvl etc... through vet ranks and now because people are too lazy to bother all the hard work people who have multiple characters put into them is worth nothing, You want a v16 through questing sure your choice it still takes effort so does grinding, do people thing leveling quickly is fun? No but people did it anyway because they wanted a v16 quickly.

Now people who didn't bother putting the time and effort in are going to get the same reward as people who did.

Most people buy video games to have fun. "Grinding" is a derogatory term. It refers to doing repetitive, not-fun content just to progress. Ideally, developers prefer if people have fun playing their games. There is a lot of money to be made in P2W grindy games, like we see on mobile, where money is the way that people avoid the unpleasantness of grinding. ZOS wants to avoid P2W, but they also want to retain players who prefer their games to be fun.

As far as "reward" goes, that sentence to too broad and generalize to add much value to the discussion. The designers need to choose what people need to work for. Should you have to unlock the ability to run? What prerequisites should skills have? How rare should a particular item drop be? How long should vertical progression continue? Players still need to work to finish Cadwell's Gold. Players still need to work to hit the CP cap. But why would forcing the same leveling for all alts be a better design than the no-vet design? Just because people already spent the time they should retain an inferior game design? Of course not. They should design the game in a way that promotes future health.

You are using the term "hard work" to talk about a leisure activity, video gaming.

I have defended VR in many threads, but I am also fine with the new design. It all comes down to what kind of game the devs want this to be. Considering that the main story ends around level 50, the removal of VR seems quite natural.

Playing the main story 4 times can also be considered grinding, it was ok the first time, the next few times is was just a hassle and needed to be done.
    PS4 EU DC

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

We know that vet ranks are gonna get removed for good. I know that many people out there aren't comfortable with grinding all the way to vet 16
(most people) and this makes the option of having alt characters less useful as days go by. Can we please have an ETA on when this is going to happen? @ZOS_GinaBruno

Sometimes you just have to accept unknowns. Sometimes you have to make decisions with incomplete info.

If they tried to give you a date right now, it would be tentative and it is possible they could miss that date by months. Imagine all the complaining if that happened. Instead of giving you a false sense of security, it is better to stick with the vague schedules they have put out until they have a good reason to be more specific.

It's gonna happen, and we know it'll be based on CP so in the meantime just get your alts to VET1. I feel perfectly viable thanks to battle leveling on my vet 1 stamknight anyway.
