WB spam may be over the top, but steel tornado isn't stopping dw from giving 2 set bonuses. Just look at how many people are using dw for the damage alone, the extra set bonus is just a plus. If this were to happen people would have more options.

Yes, then I wouldn't have to dual wield swords as a magica sorcerer (which makes no sense)

I dont think it should tbh, and 2h line has 4 skills people can use pvpwise, compared to 1 maybe 2 dw skills. But no considering dw is magicka and stamina everyone has a fair shot at getting those extra bonuses if they choose

    I think that they should.

Currently; if you wield a two-handed "anything", you're automatically behind in benefit to people who are dual-wielding. making Two-Handed weapons count as two items for Set bonuses only makes sense IMO.

If that can't happen, then the damage for Two-Handed weapons (Axes, Mauls, Swords, Bows, and Staves) should receive a pretty significant boost to their damage.

Just the fact that dual-wielding swords causes your Sorcerer spells to do more damage than when wielding a Staff is just wrong to begin with. Frankly, I honestly believe that wielding a Destro/Resto Staff should boost the damage/healing of a Sorcerers spells far more than a Sword ever would.

There needs to be a buff added to Spell damage (via a Passive skill or some other such boost) when wielding a Staff that Swords cannot match. It only makes sense.

It does limit options....and I am all for options.
    Options are good.
For set bonuses only...not enchanting or anything else obviously.
You get double enchantment power using 2h weapons...only seems obvious set bonuses should apply too.

That's coming from someone using 1h&s + DW exactly because of this problem.

I'm all for it also feel staves bow and two hander need a base normal light attack dmg buff I mean a 5ft blade not causing leathal dmg and taps enemies like dragging a stick on the concrete?

I don't like it, but I think it would be even more confusing to new players if certain items counted as two in a set.

I'd rather see all the 2H weapons, not just 2H melee weapon damage, have benefits that outweigh the loss of a set bonus. Or add jewelry crafting, so at least the crafted sets can have 2 full 5 piece sets.

Sure, I'm here for it. Might seem a bit complicated at first, but then again, so is the crafting system in general, I hardly think one extra point of minutia would hurt it much. Not that I think the system is overcomplicated, I think it's just the right level of complicated.

    No, because basic math.

What it should be is each unique item counts 1x. Like, if you have a Ring of the X and a Band of the X, it's two items in a set, but if you have two Bands it's only one. Only the first Stygian dagger counts if you dual wield.

1H and Shield comes out a little bit ahead, but only factors into a few sets overall.

The 2h weapons should do more damge though, especially considering dw is better for spells than staffs

using 2h over 1h is trading the extra item slot for enhanced function of that one piece...

I've been hit by WB for over 10k too many times to think that 2H weapons are at a disadvantage.

Mostly because of destro staff, its all around underwhelming weap choice, and on top of that you loose extra set bonus. No wander no one use it, but maybe if it counted as 2, someone would actually use it.

To be fair, all of my Sorcerers use Destro Staves. But then again; I also don't PvP, so it works out.

I'm still able to roll out some impressive DPS with my Destro Staves, but Dual Wielding still provides significantly more damage for Sorcerers than using any Staves, and that's something that needs to change.

There is zero reason why a Sorcerer Dual-Wielding Swords should pump out more damage with Spells than a Sorcerer using a Destro Staff.

    Zero. Reasons.

Are traits on 2 handed weapons not worth double of that on a 1 handed weapon? It would not be such as stretch to continue the theme with item set bonuses.

Or they could add a new craft able for 2 handed, like a hilt, or staff grip. Could change the cosmetic appearance of the weapon and add that second set piece.

Either that, or a wider variety of "master weapons" (unique, named weapons with an interesting bonus or special ability)

    Current system is asymetrical....

ofc the advantage of 12 set piece bonusses can be balanced with stronger properties of the two-handed weapon

but why burden the balancing with such a unnesessary complication ???

I'd recommend making a small boost to staves in other ways. Similar things can be done for 2handers, etc.

Maybe adding "Focus Levels" like they had in DaoC. Only certain items had "Focus Levels" for different magic lines or for all magic lines.

So a VR16 Fire Staff would have max levels of Fire Magic, making the casting and using of all fire based damage more efficient or with a dmg bonus. A new staff type maybe that has focus for all levels, or a 2nd enchant or something or other...

Obviously this is just spit balling, but you get the idea.

EDIT: I guess, boiling it down and thinking about it, my objection to the simple "counts as 2" solution is that its making a square peg fit into a round hole instead of taking the opportunity to make the square a square. The "count as 2" is an elegant solution, but I see it as avoiding a chance for more diversity, albeit with help.

Hmmm, I'm a bit torn between a "yes" and a "no". I always found it strange that dw gives you not only more damage than 2h but also provide an additional set item slot. But as others have mentioned the "make 2h count as 2 items" is a rather simplistic solution and may do more harm than good in terms of balance. Either way, something needs to change because atm dw gives you a double benefit over 2h.
