what is the best weapon for a Templar who's investing heavily in Dawn's Wrath?

I'm new to the game and am planning to do a good degree of soloing. What is a good weapon and armor setup for a solo templar who is investing heavily in Dawn's Wrath? Thanks in advance for your input and tolerance of a newb.

dual swords, resto I would think if you plan to heal/dps and good for solo.
5 light/2 hvy usuallyor 7 light. Get sets whenever possible. lots of options with Templars.
tank would be a different setup. Youtube for various builds out there or search here.
Templars are a bunch of fun even now and hopefully getting better soon!

Some guys heal without a resto, I find it a bit clunky for magicka sustain.

Armour wise, 5 x Seducer light and 2x Magnus Gift heavy and then dual wield blades with the Magnus trait as well as your resto staff will give you plenty of magicka. If you can get some warlock jewellery and enchant it with mag regen will be good. So far as enchantments for you armour goes, put at least one max health on your chest/legs and the rest max magicka.
Then don't forget food/drink buffs for either max health/mag or regen health/mag.

This will give you the basis for huge amounts of magicka ideal for a group healer with good aedric spear/dawns wrath skills.

Of course there are loads of different takes on the 'ideal' build, play, experiment and respec as you go. Don't forget to research your crafting traits in light armour and a couple of heavy armour parts as you play. If you can't make these armours right now, just ask.

I like the restro staff for the HOT rapid regen. I apply it to myself before engaging enemies, and try to keep that HOT up. There are also some restro passives that can be helpful.

I assume that you intend to play magicka-based. My personal favourite setup is 5 Kagrenac, 4 Magnus, using two swords and sword and shield. Drop a few points into restoring light to get Rushed Ceremony (morphed to Breath of life) asap.

DW only needs points in "Twin Blade and Blunt" (last passive), so just level it by wearing two swords. 1H&S can use all passives, Defensive Posture (Defensive Stance), Shield Charge (Invasion).

Load the DW bar with your offensive abilities and the 1H&S bar with heals and mobility. Vampire is a useful side line, as long as you have the room for at least one vampire ability on each bar.

Extend with more points in restoring light until you get Restoring Aura (Repentance) and add that one to your offensive bar. You are quite limited in Ultimates, since all class based ones are quite mediocre for solo play. I would suggest Batswarm (vampire line), Meteor (mage's guild line) or Dawnbreaker (fighter's guild line), when and if you have the points to spare.

Once you reach veteran ranks, Law of Julianos becomes the preferred set. By this time, you don't need the 2/3/4 piece bonuses from Kagrenac and can specialise more in spell damage/spell crit.

PvE solo no issues whatsoever, including public group dungeons while underleveled. PvP you need to be the better player to win against anyone, and that by a large margin.
