Well, these days you have to slot vamp abilities on both bars to have that extra regen from passives. Imo, its not worth it. And its not really good for anything imo, simply because of these extra slots and dawnbreaker oneshots in pvp.

Im not questioning "being able to do fine", I did my first CoA no-death run in 1.6 as a vamp healer.
But it only gives disadvantages if you wont slot the abilities, so imo it doesnt make sense to be a vamp tank unless you need it for roleplay reasons.

I will put this out there though, I'm curious about mistform tanking but am to lazy to try it. Dunno if that works, but most on one bar and devouring swam on the other could be fun...

It was good in early patches, and only on certain builds.
And that damage reduction when you're near death probably wont save you because as a tank you'll be hit really hard and you shouldnt stay at 20% health when tanking. Unblocked boss' heavy attack at very low health will probably kill you despite all passives. Especially if its a fire based boss. A when I'm tanking, I never let my health drop that low.
Yeah, you could probably try mist form, but you cant block when in that form and afaik its mitigation is same or lower than fully geared tank's block mitigation.
In any case, I just dont see how to make it work in current patch. In best case scenario you can be as effective as non-vamp (and make your healer's job a bit harder in CoA or certain WGT bosses), but its not like you can make your char better at tanking. You can make it a bit different (if you can deal with that extra fire dmg), but is it going to be better? Sorry, but I really doubt it. I tanked all dungeons and trials and dont think that vampirism can give any advantages.
