I'm a level 16 vet and my character is a marshmallow in Cyrodil

While I am not the most skilled fighter in the world, I don't suck.

I'm a level 16 dragonknight... dark elf... duel wield and two handed... leveled up in almost ALL skills and equipment - my champ points are around 60-60-60.

I kill everything in sight with ease until I hit cyrodil.

I know its a different game in cyrodil... but It's so hard to survive pvp combat.

Players with high magic abilities just shoot red or blue beams at me for 5-8 seconds and I'm toast. theres no escape once one of these magical sadists spot me.

What build is that that you can kill me that fast? When I started playing the game sorcs weren't that powerful?

Some of the sorcs killing me so fast are level 8-16 vets.

Is it possible to be competitive in pvp with a completely leveled up DK? if so, what's the effective build?

This is tough on me.

If you're a dk and want to counter sorcs then keep wings up 24/7. PvP takes practice; you can be awesome at pve and suck at pvp. Pvp requires you to recognise audio cues, particle effects and animations from your opponents, whatever class they may be, and react accordingly and quickly. Pve requires that you know your build inside-out, pvp requires that you know everyone elses builds inside-out. Just keep at it and don't be afraid to die and get your ego bruised a bit. Try to analyse why you died and the events leading up to it, and work out what you could have done differently given what skills killed you and how those skills work.

Edit: I know I already mentioned it but audio cues are op. Certain sounds in cyro now make me feel sick with fear because I know what they mean and what's coming, and because of this I have instinctive responses to certain sounds that often save me from death. This can only come with practice though.

You mean it will help traveling in a band or do you mean that it will make me more powerful?

The fact that you're having trouble probably doesn't come down to a build that wrecks you, it's probably that your build is not optimized for pvp. If you post your stats, gear, CP distribution, etc, it would be easier for people to give you advice.

Traveling in a voice based guildgroup is helpfull in many ways. You can get advices on set up and get buffs from your mates, for ex heal and some ultimates. It is great fun to if you find a friendly guild, you also have a chance to get more ap. You will also survive much better.

If you actually want to be better at pvp, then yeah, your best bet would be to find a friendly pvp guild that will explain you builds and tactics. Preferably a guild that organizes small-scale pvp groups.
If you just want to unlock skills, then just stick to groups, so you will have more survivability.
And use your dragon scales against these sorcs. ;)

Errr... u were a Stam DK? (I'd assume so since u were using DW & 2H)... Stam DKs are actually pretty strong in PvP. If you've been told to take a Resto Staff, I hope u've also been told to convert fully into a Magicka DK, cos otherwise Resto Staff will be very bad. Hybrid builds don't work in ESO, commit to either Magicka or Stamina build.

Also... whilst Dunmer is ideal for Magicka DK builds... Magicka DK is generally considered the weakest build in PvP atm... so if PvP is ur focus, then I recommend u stick with Stam DK and work towards getting Vigor, which will help you to survive a lot better. Stam DKs are very strong in the current PvP meta, Magicka DK... not so much.

I'm getting killed with my stamina build...

dual wield - green dragon blood - silver shards, igneous weapons, steel tornado, twin slashes,

two handed - forward momentum, wrecking blow, eruption, igneous sheild, dragon scales

    werewolf ultimate on both

I don't play any stam builds but I do know that healing is an issue for them until they unlock vigor at support rank 5. Until then your only heal is rally from 2h skill line. Try to avoid playing solo until you unlock vigor, until then just try to avoid damage by dodge rolling while popping pots, and cc your opponents any chance you can.

My current skill bars for stam dk are

2h - executioner, stampede, wreckling blow, igneous shield, rally, take flight ultimate
Bow - silver shards, evil hunter, igneous weapons, rapid maneuvers, flappy wings, werewolf ultimate.

I'm not to tanky with these skills alone, it comes down to your set choices as well. I'm running 2 blood spawn, 5 hundings and 3 agility.

This build works well for me and I'm only a VET1. My gear is slightly different as I'm not max level. I've 5 Hundings, 3 Ravager, 3 nightmother. 3 Ravager jewelry is enchanted all with weapon damage but if your having sustain issues with lower CP enchant some with stamina recovery instead. I use the drinks that you can buy off the siege merchant with AP but you have access to more powerful ones at V16.

As a stamina build you can't keep up dragon scales 100% of the time so try time it when you see projectiles coming at you. Nothing is more satisfying than a reflected meteor especially if you time it with your own attacks. Secondly depending on if I'm in a group or not I'll switch out a skill or two. In a group or if I'm dueling I'll run Fossilize instead of Unstable Flame. I typically run Crit Rush instead of stampede but if your having trouble landing your Wrecking Blows stick with Stampede. Also I use the Take Flight Morph instead for the extra damage and fun of hopping from keep wall to keep wall :P

Lastly i'm having more fun with stamina DK than I am with my V16 Nightblade so stick with it. I know I'm going too.

EDIT: Forgot to mention as a V16 if your having trouble acquiring Agility jewelry, use robust Endurance enchanted with weapon damage instead, it's a perfectly viable alternative until you get your agllity pieces together and very cheap to buy from Guild Stores.
