Just empty your inventory, go to a spot with a lot of equipment to steal (i went to Belkath), take everything, launder it and deconstruct it with the char you want to level up. Laundered items give as much XP as dropped and you level your Ledgerdemain at the same time + have a ton of V14 mats.

Undaunted Grind

I looked at this from a pure "Do I need this to be competitive?" standpoint. While crafting is certainly a grind you can find crafters who will make you 9 trait gear for nominal fees if you supply the materials so there's a way around that. Thus it comes down to skill lines and I went with Undaunted over Alliance ranks for the simple fact you don't "need" to get Alliance rank 50 to unlock all the skills and passive. Just getting to 24 or so gets you AR10 which unlocks everything. The rest is just titles and dye colors. But Undaunted requires to get to rank 10 and oh boy what a grind that is. I would love to run veteran dungeons, especially the speed and no-death challenges for more Undaunted ranking but I'm not in a guild that does those. And trying to use LFG results in 2 scenarios, "Have you run this dungeon as veteran? No? Goodbye!" or I end up with three other first timers and after our 17th wipe realize why we don't get accepted into groups. Apparently you have to learn how to run veteran dungeons without running them. Or you get carried a bunch of times by your guild mates while you learn. I found it relatively easy to get into a PvP guild. I've had no luck finding a Veteran Dungeon running one.

Alliance Rank Grind

I originally picked Alliance war rank, because *** that, but having to grind Rubedo leather and the fact that I have yet to pull an Ancient Orc page myself, yeah... crafting has gotten utterly ***.

Vet Grind

I'm for Vet grinding.

Alliance War takes WAY too long for rank 7, but at least you're doing your thing while leveling it up.
But having to go through the boring story a second (silver) and a third (gold) time every time you roll a new character? That is just utterly RIDONCULOUS! And all that time, you see almost no progression on your level bar... GRRRR!

I'm not grinding anything. I play the game and those things will level as I play and enjoy myself as a happy side effect.

I've never grinded,so I dont have an opinion.Nothing in the game is a grind to me. I tend to level up by accident mostly. :}

I can name ten grinds worse than what was listed. Scamp grind, Ancient Orc Motif grinds, Fishing and Monster Trophy grinds to name a few. Have you seen how achievements are not account wide. Your poll should have had one option and that is played ESO grind.

Achievements shouldnt be account wide.Each character plays its own game,so everything,but color dyes,belong to that one character,as it should be. :}

Vet Grind

I would have chosen alliance rank grind, but the vet grind is terrible, and the alliance rankj grind isn't necessary on every character, because not all of them need the skills and passives in it.

But both suck.

Let me know when you crack 15k achievements score and then tell me with a straight face you want to do it on eight alts. Account wide achievements and achievement progression would solve a good handful of problems. I will confidently say that anyone interested in major achievement collecting does it on one alt and has no interest in fishing all zones, collecting 100 of each IC scamp etc. across multiple alts. The achievements, collection progress and titles and should be available to every alt you own.

If you're good and enjoy PVP then it does take a long time but it's slightly more varied than grinding stones and helms.

Worst grind is in fact skill points. Grinding all those quests over and over. Most of which are just talk to this person...go back and see this person and then go back to the same person to close it off. Needless running around (must have been how it was before the telephone was invented)

They should be available account wide, but I think it would be cool if there was an indication as to which alt is at which point as well, for example, account wide the achievement will be unlocked, and at the bottom of the description it would say in chronological order which characters have met the standards.

That would be such a cool, but useless feature.

Personally, I find the trait research grind to be pretty damn annoying. I don't even bother with Alliance War anymore, so technically that's the most painful.

Having done enough Alliance war, knowing how to do it, that's pretty easy once you got the hang of it.

Skyshards and lorebooks, while annoying, are pretty fast with a map / addon to get their locations.

Haven't grinded Undaunted yet.

Grinding enchanting and vet levels (especially with many alts) are both pretty high on the list.

Getting 9 traits for crafting on as many parts as possible is definitely #1 to me, simply because this is the one thing where it takes more than 6 months, and there's nothing you can do to complete it faster, and yet I perma-run 3 traits research on Blacksmithing and Clothing...

Gear Grind.

Why is this not an option in the poll?

With other grinds you at least see progression and(usually) have fun while it goes up.

Gear grind just doesn't work that way to due horrible rng. Gear grind you kill the same boss or bosses over and over. Sometimes for months and get nothing in return if unlucky. It's the absolute worse.

If there was an "other" category I would probably say "RNG equipment grind" but with the choices given Alliance rank is by far the longest, if not the most annoying since you are at least having fun in PvP to get it.

Lorebook Hunting (Mages Guild Grind)

I was kind of stuck between lorebooks and crafting. I guess you could say crafting is more time consuming than a grind. The main problem I have is the time it takes to research traits.
Lorebooks is painful, because even with an addon I'm still running around Tamriel reading books when I could be enjoying the game instead.
Alliance rank doesn't feel like much of a grind because I'm earning the ranks doing something I enjoy, though for PVE oriented people I can see their view as well. It's the main reason my Undaunted is like 2. I hate it. Six percent max stats sounds nice, but not worth the pain imho.

I do this too, however I find that in order to get certain things that people see as "necessary", a certain amount of grind needs to be built into your play. (VR16 mats, Alliance rank in particular).

I will eventually get the Imperium set as long as I play the game for 1000 years. I shouldn't be worried about someone else in my raid group being preferred over me because I didn't grind the BIS gear.

Lmao @ so many people choosing alliance rank grind. They give it 50 ranks that take a long time to get through and because of that it's very hard to run out of progression.... and everyone complains about it! Sigh.
