As a console player myself, I completely agree!
Actually on pc, it's not much of a grind at all as they all have addons that show the book locations on your map and compass. Same story with skyshards.

Not that it's the same at all, but wouldn't you just look up a skyshard map and match it up with your game map on the console?
That requires having your computer or smartphone on right beside you as you're playing. I did it that way, but hated every minute of it. The pc addon gives you the exact location, which you can see behind walls. The maps online give you a location and a screenshot, but you can still be 10-20 meters off and spend a few minutes looking around before seeing the skyshard.

Took me 1 week just to get my blacksmithing on my daggerfall crafter to 50, woodworking and clothing not too far behind because I did all 3 at the same time, But I must have gone through 200+ pieces of V15 orsinium drops. Mages lorebook grind is now horrible, since I stink at lockpicking and a LOT of the books are now much harder to get to.Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.***Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis2 -

✭✭✭✭✭Alliance Rank GrindAlliance war for sure. I love PvP. I spend a large amount of my in-game time on PvP. But the AP comes like water flowing uphill in a desert. I run with the top PC NA AD guild, but we don't spend all our time farming "bads", we like to do a lot of competitive fights, play the map, etc. We still make bank AP, but it's still less than 100k an hour. Often it's more like 30 50k. But then you go to rank up and it starts to be several million AP per rank! I'm all for encouraging game longevity, but that's ridic-***. I'm not saying AP should roll in like at launch, but a little boost wouldn't hurt. Not all of us were PvPers during those glory days!Men'Do PC NA AD Khajiit

Maybe I've missed something but the other ressources are kinda easy to find in Wrothgar and you often get survey reports from crafting writs, which give you a good amount of ressources.
For leather you have to kill tons of animals and then if you're lucky you can find ONE V16 leather and no survey reports ... (as I said, maybe I'm missing something)
In the end I used 30 000 Tel Var to get my ressources.

The biggest pain with crafting research is that it's hard-capped at a bare minimum number of days to complete. Fortunately, it's currently less than a year, if I recall correctly. But then there's grinding that's hard-capped for time (can only do 1 per day per character) AND RNG-based, like trying to get Undaunted set items. Noooooo thank you.Men'Do PC NA AD Khajiit

Itoq✭✭✭✭CP grind.
I have four V16. All are leveled up in Legerdemain, Undaunted, Fighters and Mages. All are around 50 in provisioning and alchemy. Three are at about 50 in Enchanting and three are maxed out in the weapon and armor crafting skills. For alliance war skills only my stam DK isn't adequately leveled (Vigor.)
And in the end the CP grind kills me (with alliance war skills grinding for alts a close second - mainly because I don't think grinding and PVP should mix in any way.)Edited by Itoq on December 19, 2015 9:51AM0 -
