PVE versions of PVP Zones?

For clarification, a PvE version of Cyrodiil would be just that, a completely separate instance of the zone set for PvE. This would eliminate players being present and "taking up space" that are there to just do the quests, delves, get skyshards, and who are not engaged in the PvP struggles going on and therefoe are not contributing to their faction's supremacy in the area.

PVE versions of PVP Zones? 217 votes

I would enjoy there being PvE versions of Cyrodiil and Imperial City.

I do not think there should be PvE versions of any PvP zone.

I would not care one way or another.

Imperial City probably not. It's a DLC. They come only in 1 version.

I would go one step further and say a running storyline in the zone would be awesome. Quests to retake keeps for your faction, leading npc armies using siege equipment all those mechanics in a pve setting would be epic. Capture all the keeps then take IC ending with a fight against Molag's Simulacrum would be epic!

I don't see it as them "taking up space". Hell, I do it too when I'm levelling a new character. I love having the chance of meeting someone in a town for combat. It really breaks the monotony of questing , but generally they don't seem to care I'm there anyway.
    Leave it how it is.

I think it's great to have the opportunity to step into combat with another player even amidst the PvE questing. Although I do think if there was a way to separate PvPers and PvE people, this would be it. Rather than the suggestion by @Thorn416 to make a passive mode.

It's a good idea, just not one I agree with.

Yes please to a PvE version it takes nothing away from the PvP players and in fact it will reduce the population and some what negate the population locks, as the PvE players will have their own special server with a fab new zone to quest and level - please ZOS give this too us :)

It may be a personal preference, but I have always liked the idea of a certain amount of mutual exclusivity. Not all the time of course, but a decent amount. That mutual exclusion encourages players to approach their goals in more than one way and effectively gives motivation and reward to those who do play a certain way.

Just like how I think there should be no solo-friendly trials or a PvE way to gain PvP skills, I personally believe there should be no PvE instance of Cyrodil. And I say this as someone who mostly PvEs myself and barely ever touches Cyrodil.

The Cyrodil quests were never intended to be like regular PvE quests, and the potential PvP encounters were a part of their conceptual design. As such I see no reason to convert them to typical PvE quests--they were never mean to be approached like that. If you didn't want to deal the potential PvP encounters, then you simply don't participate in it. Just like how I usually don't do trials because I don't want to group.

I do however really think there should be something in Cyrodiil that allows you to respqwn closer to quest areas if you are questing.

I'm not sure how you could implement this, but it would save a lot of griefing

While I understand the request I don't think so, only because there are a few ways you can work with it and completing the in-game achievements (delves, skyshards, etc) are that much sweeter when you know you've completed them as they were designed.

My suggestions are to choose a campaign that you know your alliance dominates and/or one that has a low population (both are easily identifiable by the server population icons). Much lower chance of getting ganked. And sometimes you'll find helpful folks hanging out in the spawn - you could always ask 'em for a safety escort. I've definitely done this before. "Hey, I'm headed to DC territory for a skyshard - anyone want to tag along?"

I'd love to, but most of my characters are DC.

DC hasn't had a "buff server" since they reduced the number of campaigns from like a dozen to 5, which was well over a year ago.

There are zones to suit all tastes. I'd rather ZOS spend resources fixing bugs and developing new content than repurposing zones for players who want to have it all their way.

By the way, this feels like a duplicate of the thread asking for PvP-free Cyrodiil. Just in poll form.

    No thanks.

There's 2 pvp zones to 20+ PVE zones.

Leave Cyrodiil in the alliance war.

There's a PVE only part of Cyrodiil coming with the Dark Brotherhood DLC. I would much rather th devs focus on new content than a retread of an old zone.

Absolutely not, especially for IC. Like it has been said before, "this is not skyrim 2". I know a lot of people who visited Cyrodiil for a few shards and skill points, they never had any interest in PvP. But now, they love it there, they spend all their free time there. Why do you want to remove a portion of the game for players that will love it, even though they don't know it yet??

And IC, I can't imagine how boring it would be without that intense sense of danger everywhere.

Wow. So if it's a change you don't like then people asking for it is bullying? LOL And this isn't even that. The other post made me curious as to just how many folks might actually want such a thing. Hence the poll.

Agreed! Which is kind of what I expected when I started playing. I'm not complaining about it, mostly because I'm wary about PvP, but I thought for sure there would be PvP only and PvE only servers.

Be interesting if they made PvP optional throughout Tamriel. Something you could toggle off and on for example and changes your color from white to yellow. I'd imagine some people would like to have the ability to player kill in the middle of a quest, just for giggles. Plus it would be fun to watch for non-PvPers as well.

Didn't you try to start this discussion in another thread? Now you have rerolled the thread as a poll??

Still same answer from me. Unequivocally NO.

The devs have enough things in the game to fix...more than enough that they should be focusing on. And when not focused on fixing things, most would agree there is a laundry list of things the game needs that take precedence over making it easier for a handful of players to get skyshards or achievements.

I was able to get every skyshard in Cyrodiil long before i took up PvP. Same with clearing every delve, and doing all the quests. And I still go and do Cyrodiil dailies on a couple alts to level and only run into gankers (maybe) one in ten trips. If I and others could do it, so can you.

If you still feel the need to pursue something so passionately to try to make a change, might I suggest you take a stab at curing cancer or fixing world hunger. Making multiple posts about the same thing to try to change the majorities mind wont accomplish anything.

As I've already mentioned, I think there should have always been open world PvP servers. So that would make all the currently PvE zones PvP enabled. Yes, though I don't enjoy PvP in this game I am a strong advocate of "equal time and access" for the PvP community. Which doesn't seem to stop members of it from being really nasty towards me for some reason but...oh well!
