[IDEA] Fishing Skill Line

I think Zenimax should do a fishing skill line in the future. It would increase the rank as you fish and more after finding a rare fish. Even more for finding a rare fish you haven't found before. Fishing Writs should also be created with baits and a chance of rare fishes as rewards. Small chance at Fishing Roe as well. Possible passives:
1- Increase the amount of baits you get from harvesting;
2- Show fishing spots on the map close to where you are;
3- Show the correct type of bait you should use on the current fishing spot;
4- Increase the chance of getting rare fishes and wet gummy sacks; *MOST IMPORTANT ONE*
5- Increase the quality of items found on wet gummy sacks;
6- Chance at not wasting a bait after getting a regular fish;
7- See how many fishes the fishing spot has left.
Possible Fishing Writ:
1- Find rare *name_of_fish* close to *type_of_water* at *name_of_zone*
2- Get 10 salmon/goldfish/etc close to *type_of_water*
What do you guys think? It would help a lot for getting the Master Fishing achievement/trophy and it would make fishing a really fun activity. If you guys have any more suggestions or critics leave it below.

✭I don't agree, I know 1 person out of 100 on xbox 1 that fishes regularly for the master angler achievement. Once in awhile a guild I'm in has group fishing before we enter pvp. To dedicate a skill line with skills and passives would mean fishing would need to become it's own profession.
There are other skill lines I'd like to see that could prove more useful than just fishing.0 -

So....? I don't understand why you don't agree....
Will it nerf your DPS build? No.
Will it nerf your Tank? No.
Will it nerf anything? No.
Will it force you to fish everyday? No.
Will it force to be a fisher? No.
Will it keep you from doing the things you did before? No.
Will it help those who would like to have fun at fishing? Yes.
Will it be a new skill line to have fun at leveling? Yes.1 -

I think this is MORE reason to add a fishing skill line @Unsent.Soul , it would get more people fishing regularly!What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

@ZOS could expand on this and add in Fishing Pole/Reel as a Woodworking/Blacksmith craftable items. The higher quality fishing rod/reel you have could improve the chance for rare fish and Perfect Roe drops.
If they didn't want to create a whole new skill line off it, just go with the Rod/Reel updates. They could easily add in a few extra skills to the Provisioning/Gathering skills for increase bait drops as well as Perfect Roes. Once you hit level 50 in Alchemy, you can place a skill point in gathering that increases your bait drops. Once you hit 50 in Provisioning, you can place a skill point for Perfect Roe increase chances.
These would be simple additions that could be done in time for any upcoming DLC.NA Server - Kildair1 -

this is cool I never really saw a point to fishing myself but for those who do would be nice. even if they made like a fishing mini game for the eso fishermen0 -
KewaG✭✭✭Love the idea! I had a discussion with a guild mate one time about adding something like this in the game. I love fishing but it needs to be more rewarding in this game. Right now I fish for Perfect Roe and that's it. If there were more or better recipes needing fish, daily fishing writs and a chance to get better items from gunny sacks I'd be fishing everyday and everywhere. Also there should be rare fish to catch that only high level anglers can get. Passives to increase chance of Perfect Roe would also be nice but I wouldn't expect that much. I think they will add a few new skill lines as legerdemain which are optional for you to play.

Eocosa✭✭✭I really like your idea because nothing seems game breaking on any level and it either will encourage more people to try fishing (increasing the chance of better things) while helping those that DO fish for the same reasons while also making it less time consuming farming bait and the like.
It always seemed a bit off and underwhelming that fishing is pretty much the only thing you do ingame that doesn't "level" and allow you to get better.

Yes, a hunting skill line will be very much welcome. I'd like the ability to skin a deer for hide, even if its low level hide, so I can refine it and possible get more improvement material. Might have to make it harder to kill some animals just balance it though. Last night I spent the night hunting and farming mats. It's great therapy after a long day at work!Nerf RNG! Nerf BoP! Krainor1974✭✭✭✭✭Yeah I spent time last weekend just hunting different game, from wolves, deer,to lions and even mammoths. some trolls and harpies as well. My alts are in NorthPoint, Rivenspire so I hunt and fish a lot there. A group going on safari might be fun, just bows and straight shots or snipe.

Fishing feels like its been thrown in as some sort of misc. activity you can do. It doesn't come across as something they've put a lot effort towards without a skill line. I agree it definable could use some improvements. I just wish they'd add something like a fishing tournament that a bunch of players could participate in.
The hunting skill line would be pretty awesome too, maybe if they added in like a skinning animation. Maybe some double leather bonus and extra meat passives as well. I think they could get away with copying a couple ideas off of Farcry. 1 -

Sometimes they drop nothing. I'd like it more if I could skin a deer for at least one guaranteed hide. You can fillet fish for fish ingredients why then can't we skin deer to get hide? And yes, more killable birds. I tired of killing only Chub Loons!Nerf RNG! Nerf BoP! Buff Everything else!
