Question for Tanks and Healers

Would you like to have some sort of test for your build and skills? Something like Maelstrom Arena but, you know, more for tanks and healers(control of adds, mitigate damage, healing/support). As far as i noticed playing dps is much more rewarding. Not to mention how much you can "skip", how much it is easier in dungeons just by having good dps.
Cant wait for your opinion :)

    I wouldn't mind being able to do maelstrom with heavy armor and sword and board. It would be a fun challenge.

    I think Maelstrom is fine for my Templar healer. I believe the solo arena works as a guide, to an extent, for all builds. Admittedly, you would make some changes very arena specific but on the most part, all builds should be able to sustain themselves and do damage *(as much as possible to have an effective build).


    Content does dictate skill choices and often champion points for me, but, as a healer, the best groups I run with are those that are self-sufficient. I am very proficient with my repentance and shards but if I notice the shards going unused in PUG's, I will just ask if they need it or if I can swap it out for a more DPS based skill.


    So, that's my opinion. To add though, I do wish there were more incentive for me to even do the vet Maelstrom with my healer but the gear would take apart my sets that I run and thus render it less effective. The costs for repair, need for a continued run, and cost of tri-stat potions are a huge hindrance and if I would ask for anything, those would be areas I would beg to be addressed in some fashion.

    But Maelstrom Arena is for solo builds. It's not exactly for dps builds. If I went there on a pure dps build, I'd get destroyed due to lack of sustain and defensive skills.

    I dont think a heal- or tank instance challenge would work honestly. Shield stacker with mobility and good sustain, would still be able to survive way longer than 5+ heavy sword&board tank.

    Than there's healing, how would you design that? Heal as much as you can for 15 minutes or what? I dont think it's going to be that interesting, just a lot of spam.

    What they could do is add something to PvP leaderboards (+maybe new trial), like most healing done, most dmg taken and most dmg done/killing blows this week. That would give all roles, including tanks and healers, something fun to aim for.

    Because in solo situations, you will never be able to perform well if using a tank or heal build. I just dont think it's possible to make content where healers, dps and tanks can compete on equal terms.
