Is it possible to level up by just doing PvP?

So I've just reached VR16 with my Nightblade...and I'm dissatisfied. My nightblade just don't hold that same rouge-type intrigue for me anymore, maybe I've just become bored of that playstyle.
I've decided to run a Templar in the Aldmeri Dominion but with this I want to really hone my skills and become effective in PvP. This means I'll be spending a lot more time in Cyrodiil which I'd be happy to do because I haven't done so enough. Right now I'm sick and tired of questing. It takes ages and I just don't feel like I'd be improving my PvP skills by anyway whatsoever doing it. +I want this character to be solely PvP (for now).
Sooo, when I reach lvl10 is it worth just hopping into the non-vet campaign and playing PvP from then on, whilst completing Alliance quests at the same time? I feel like it would be really beneficial for me to understand this class and gradually build up to master it.
tbh, Im bored of PvE and Im ready for real action :)

if you think grinding is better off for me then drop me a PM and let me know some AD spots working currently ;) but I'd really like to know if PvP would be the better route.
There's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

Yes. My nightblade Alt char is levelled only in Cyrodiil (& a few main & guild quests to get jewellery). You level up quite quickly... soon my NB will hit VR1 & have to move out of BWB :(

My Main char is VR16 ... but levelled up in PVE land. I know the vet ranks are a massive grind.. no matter where you get the EXP from.

I lvled one of my alts predominately through pvp (obviously lvl 1-10 I had to pve...also hunted some skyshards for the points to put into skills...and I did 2 or 3 dungeon runs for a break)...and it went by very, very quickly. I was actually rather shocked how FAST lvling is through pvp. I wouldn't imagine it goes as smoothly through vet lvls, but maybe.

Edit: 10-50 I lvled through pvp. Didn't make that clear originally.

You can, but it's a very dumb idea. I don't get why people reroll and come straight into cyrodiil once they reach lvl 10 if they don't have any useful abilities or stats.

I have leveled my main to vet mostly through PvP, did some PvE just to get me some skill points. At that time though, when you're vet 1 you're not battle leveled like how it is now. And the damage was insane. Of course, I wasn't geared properly then (my first vet-- lol). So I ended up being too squishy, so I PvE-ed more. But now, I think it's better since when you're below v15 you're battle leveled, and the damage isn't like how it used to be. lol.

So they can have vigor at lvl 20, maybe lower but that's the lowest lvl Iv seen
