static low fps rendered game unplayable

I have been experiencing game issues which have rendered this game unplayable.

I am on a 2011 MacBook Pro 8,2,
i7 2.2ghz
8gm RAM
Radeon 6750 1gb RAM
OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks

Previously with my laptop, settings adjusted to all toggled details off EXCEPT grass, Settings at Medium, No AA No Vsync, My FPS was 28-50.

Now, after patch/DLC, I get no more than 13fps, REGARDLESS of my settings. That is to say, Upping all my settings will grant 13fps. Lowering all settings will grant 13fps.

This is in Wrothgar, Orsinium town, Imperial City, Lower level zones, in trade windows, everywhere.

I have repaired the game in the Launcher. I have used computer performance programs such as Onyx and iBoostup. I've done a fresh install of Maverix, I have done everything possible to improve this from my side (with the exception of buying a new rig, which is necessary outside of this issue).

This is not a Mac-Specific issue but I'm starting here. Elsewhere on the forums you will find others experiencing similar issues as myself and I am fed up with the constant issues when I try to play this Mac-Supported Game.

This bears no improvement either! I've reduced resolution to 720p from 900p (my latptop's full res) as well and no improvement.

I've run into such problems before after updating and I found that the following normally resolves all my issues.Bear in mind doing this will require you to not currently have the game or launcher open, once you've followed the below step launch the game, adjust your settings to suit and then relaunch the game and hopefully this may have resolved your issues.

Then save the file as 'UserSettings' inside of the 'Live' or 'Liveeu' folder. The format should be plain text by default.

My settings are:
Fullscreen, 1440x900,
Sync off,
Both High detail settings,
Shadows Low,
Water Shadows Off,
View Distance 23,
All other settings Off except for, magelight & grass

I get 40-60fps.

This last post by @ViscousSummer88 (replace usersettings file) worked for me last patch. Awesome.

Since today (EU Megacluster) it - fps capping issue is back

and the other way it shows there is an issue is the CP screen (and only this screen) flickers when you are in it.

2 days ago I was getting 40-60 fps - today I am capped at 22 max with 16-18 being the norm.

debugging more

in /liveeu/logs there is a file - client.log. In there there is a fill rate number (billions/sec)

with the fps issue - it seems to be 2.x
without it's 9.x

I've restarted, replaced the usersetttings file again and bam - on lowest (ruling out any other issues, 63fps in the lagfest known as mournhold.

can anyone give us an idea of what the fillrate thing in client.log is all about and where does it come from? when is it tested and which setting in usersettings can influence it.. I think this is the problem area!
