Maelstrom arena stage 7- need help

I play as melee character and I am stuck at stage 7 with boss fight. Tried few hundred times and can't pass him :(
So need an advice from melee player who had beaten it. I most of the time die from poison dots that exploding plants give me. It hits for 5.3k initially and another 5.3k after 1 sec, close to 11k in 1st sec and I die 90% time before I can remove it.
Is there a way to tell which plant will explode, sometimes they do nothing when u come close. It seems pretty random but I never managed to avoid it?
I have 20.5k hp, vigor etc. Stam nb 501 CP
Thanx in advance :)

1.) Avoid poison from theese random super annoying flowers
2.) Learn the attacks of the big croco: block or dodge his stun and bite combo
3.) Learn how his stomp works - it's easy to avoid by moving correctly
4.) You should try a mix of melee and kite / ranged attacks (when in trouble, kite him)

This is a pain but not too bad in nonvet - haven't got that far in vet mode yet.

    1. Try to dodge roll or otherwise avoid ranged attacks by the archers, or trolls - they will put a Poisoned DoT on you which is harsh and kills after 30 sec or so. If you are a Templar, Cleansing Ritual is your friend for clearing this. Not sure if any other DoT purges (e.g. NB Cloak) will help, but apparently the PvP Purge does not. If/when you get Poisoned tho, stand in the green circle for a second - this will cleanse the DOT, then disappear.
    2. If you move near a plant, they will explode for high damage - move away fast or dodge roll. Speed buff is useful.
    3. One of the adds is a female who just quietly prays or something in her spawn spot. While she is active, the plants will continually explode and regenerate. Keep an eye out and kill her remotely ASAP.
    4. Archers are your next priority target, kill them fast with charges or ranged attacks. High DPS is helpful.
    5. When the final boss spawns, there are 2 Argonian adds that you should NOT target (kill any plant summoners or other adds). Put lots of DPS on the boss to kill him as fast as possible, but when he starts screaming, look around. (This is a guaranteed kill after a few seconds) One of the Argonian minders will create a shield bubble. Move there as fast as possible and stand in the shielded area (it's like the bubble in one of the Arx Corinium boss fights), and carry on with DPS against the boss. The only other option is to try Interrupt/bash the boss when he starts screaming (some people say this can prevent the insta-kill effect).
    6. Make sure to have several self-heals. Templars are easier to get through this, but Resto Staff Healing ward can be helpful; healing potions are a must.

Forgot to mention, it concerns veteran mode :)

The bashing works in Normal mode and stops the screaming but I think in Veteran mode the boss enrages and kills you, so you should go to the shield guys and stand there. And cleanse the poison in the green areas in the pools on either side of the arena.

The boss is really easy to kite, and I would suggest to go ranged and learn the animations and mechanics before you try to kill him as melee, because melee is really tough.

Buff up with double take, relentless focus, rally, siphoning Attacks and Drop caltrops when the boss spawns. Start with soul harvest and dps the guy with the usual Surprise Attack spam.

When he stomps, you can learn where to move to not get hit but you probably have to just block it until you know.
After the stomp, he uses his stun / bite combo. Dodge the stun.

When adds spawn, ignore the add close to the boss, run to the other one while rebuffing. Be sure to not get hit by the stomp wave. Kill the add, run back to the other add in melee range of the boss to get the shield . Soul harvest the boss again and dps. You probably get him around 70%.
    Kill the shield add fast.

Whenever there are inconvenient flowers, use double take and run straight through them. They will not hit you.

Always be aware of the caster spawns.

That's it. Avoid or block the stomp wave, Dodge the stun hit and kill the add that is far away from the boss.

Keep your buffs up, you can use dark shade to mitigate to Nirmal hits a bit.

If you want to use sigils, a dps sigil before you kill the add makes the fight way shorter.

Another good ultimate for the stage is ice comet when the boss screams. Just make sure you don't hit the shield add by accident.
Jeckll has quit the game. Thanks for the great time.

Having just completed as melee stam NB for the first time (took maybe 15 attempts - I had already completed it as a magika build), the flower mechanics are fairly predictable (though the spawn location isn't)

if you get within roughly ~5m of the flower, it will explode after half a second and cause the poison debuff,

Unless there is a argonian poisoner causing the flowers to instantly explode and repsawn (Target these guys immediately, prepare to get in position to ambush them as soon as you see the spawn - unless you think you can down one of the adds and make it to the shielded area before the spawn occurs)

If the boss is mid scream, the flowers seem to not explode (or have a reduced radius), and the argonian poisoner despawns (appears he also takes that aoe damage from the boss).

Use the time while the boss is screaming to regen resources - heavy attack the remaining add a few times.
Also important, is to make sure the add casting the shield is in execute range when the scream ends - makes it so he doesn't have any time to get off his aoe attack (there's an animation issue with the red circle associated with that aoe that make it more difficult to avoid than it should be)

Those are all the pointers I can think of off the top of my head.

Most of the tips I would give you have already been stated.

The top concerns for stam builds in this fight are:
    • The stomp
This usually happens after 2-3 swipes (if in melee range) or after the poison spit (if you are kiting the boss). There are safe zones off his left (non stomping) leg and ~45° off to his right. The telegraph is obvious, and your first reaction should be to back up. After the stomp, head into melee range, just watch out for the bite.
    • The bite
Learn the boss' telegraph for this and immediately dodge when you see it coming. The mechanic usually comes after the stomp and begins with a hammer fist which stuns you. If you dodge that and he follows up with the bite animation, it is safe to go into melee. He won't use the skill twice in a row (this does not apply if you don't see the bite animation).
    • The flowers
You can run through them with a speed boost to intentionally pop them; however the red circles are way off and you may die. The best thing is to just be aware of where they are and avoid them... killing the summoners when they spawn.

This fight takes quite a bit longer as a stamina build when compared to magicka as you are forced to dance around the mechanics and can only dish out real damage when the shield minders are within melee range of the boss.

One last tip: Target the shield minder that is furthest from the boss. This will ensure that the other minder is within melee range and provide enough room to avoid enraged stomps.

      Good luck!

One question I have about this level is about the pools. It seems (at least for me) you can only use each pool once per round. The green circle goes away and the pool no longer works.

Is there something I'm missing on getting these pools to reset or are they meant to be one use only? This is on Normal, I have yet to get past the first boss on Vet.

Avoid the plants, purge the bleed from the boss, and spam heals while the other mender takes his sweet time putting up his shield. Trying to kill one mender when the other is by the boss. Also have some range helps too when he's too far away. And definitely kill the guys in the corner when they spawn.

Not sure about normal, but the pools will respawn if the round lasts long enough.
