The Vestige and Silver (Plothole)

A thought occurred to me earlier......

Logically speaking shouldn't the vestige regardless of weather or not your a vampire still take higher then normal damage from silver on account on already dead? there is a reason the vestige needs Lamae Bal to transform them if they want to be a vampire because your kind of already deceased, you get sacrificed by Mannimarco at the start of the game for crying out loud and your pretty much just a spirit that escaped their afterlife by jumping through a dark anchor so the vestige by default is already undead, jumping through a portal doesn't suddenly bring you back to life and even when you get soul back your can still reform from Azure Plasm/Chaotic Creatia because your still deceased and the only reason they don't get sent back to coldharbour is because of the skyshards attuning them to Nirn.

Seriously is this an oversight on Zenimax's part?

Probably not an oversight but conscious gameplay descision. Giving a drawback to balance, etc.

We probably should be affected by silver - if not because we're undead, but because we're also technically daedra, since we have a vestige/azure plasm/chaotic creatia formed body.

Well technically they never really say that you are dead when you leave Coldharbour, they just say that you don't have a soul. So its my understanding that you're not really dead, just soulless. I could be wrong however.

If you watched the old intro of ESO where you get dragged to the sacrifice table you would see that mannimarco stabs you ending your life and sending you to oblivion also as Robo Hobo stated the vestige is technically a daedra seeing what their bodies are made of, both undead and daedra are harmed by silver bolts.

The new tutorial also has Lyris say youre dead. "Theres no easy way to say this, but...you're dead."

P.S. by all accounts Meridia should hate us, even more if we're also a vampire.

No this was an intro movie also dead + dead is still dead.

I didnt pay as much attention to the main story as I should have and wanted to. All I can say is, we're the exception to that rule and are immune to silver!!!! Personally I walk around in silver armor a lot lol

but aren't souls stolen into gems (marco uses a gem btw for his sacrifices) turned magical due to the ability to charge enchanted items but reminants of dead nor daedra cannot charge them unless stolen into a gem?

Red headed people don't have souls, they're neither dead or weak against silver.

In the old tutorial Lyris told us we were dead too. We are definitely life signs == false at the beginning of the game.

But they kind of-sort of explain this. The Prophet summons up a Skyshard to 're-attune us to Nirn', presumably that keeps us from counting as Daedra. Then becoming a vampire or werewolf re-re-attunes us to whichever Daedric realm, and there you go, silver hurts now.

On Meridia: she's a Daedric Prince, she doesn't have to be consistent if she doesn't feel like it. And in this case, she can put up with one vampire or her hated enemy Molag Bal winning.

Now what bothers me is doing the Ebonheart Pact plot before Cadwell's Silver or Gold. Because that magic hammer is supposed to trap the target's soul and, well, you know...
