Puncturing sweep

So the damage looks extremely extremely low. When it says it deals an additional 140% to closest target does that mean if the normal attack does 155 per strike am I doing 217 per strike? Or 155 plus an additional 217 per a strike (to nearest enemy?)

Just wanted to get this clarified please :)

It's a full +140% dmg so to find your dmg per strike it's 155*2.40 = 372 dmg per strike or 1488 if all four hits land with no burning light proc.

I always thought tooltip damage is 100%, while 140% buff means 100% of tooltip damage + 40% for solo target.

If it was a 40% dmg increase the tooltip would state +40% dmg to closest target.

Hope you right, but you know... this is ZOS ;) Interpretation can be astonishing sometimes.

It's been tested and confirmed by PC players. The only situation where your jabs won't get the +140% dmg is against shields. Currently shields are bugged to prevent our dmg bonus which is why it's so hard to pop a shield in PVP with Sweeps or Jabs.

Ok awesome that's what I had hoped for.The wording was a little confusing and I had hoped it wasn't just doing 217 a strike

I don't think so. I can solo World Bosses just spamming PS. It may not take them down as fast as some other attacks can, and certainly some nice rotations will take them down even faster, but PS is the Easy Button for the game. its the Heals that make it so. They can keep you alive for the entire fight without a healer.

I was in IC last night and some mobs got me down to 10% or less health, I spammed Puncturing and built my health right up to max while taking down the mobs.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
