After wanting to test the waters with alternatives to Templar healers (I rate Templars as my least favorite class in ESO; I just can't get into them), I created a Breton DK whom I was grooming as a healer. I did some reading and much like the Discipline Priest from WoW, this setup relies mainly on shielding incoming damage with supplementary healing.
I ranked up to VR's and looked at some builds. Tried it out in some dungeons. Promptly switched over to a DPS stamina build with 2-hand/1-h and shield arrangement. This setup is pretty nice.
I'm looking to go back to a healer build as another post here in the forums piqued my interest. Someone mentioned having a friend who runs a DK healer and the shields are, in a word, beastly. Something like 4x the health bar and the tank didn't even need to block (in vWGT) at all, that's how impressive these shields are.
I'm baffled at how these types of shields are produced. I am sure the CP's go into shield-strength increase, there's no doubt about that. But as I recall, when I ran my DK as a healer (she's now VR11, I think she was VR5 or so at the time), my shields were no where near this magnitude of power. Luckily we had our Templar healer running with us in the dungeon (don't remember which one) because my shields were pitiful and could really not add anything to the role I was attempting.
Can someone perhaps give me some insight into what I should be looking for if I do want to switch my Breton DK back into a healer?
