time for another build, mag nb or stam dk..

Right now I've nearly leveled my now first pc build it's time to think about the next one.

Got a couple build I haven't uses yet and fancied some input..

This is a dedicated pvp build, maybe the odd pve session but I'm making this character just for pvp, at least until templars get fixed. ...

Now racial wise I'm thinking imperial, for hp+ stam which are both essential in pvp, healing passive ain't bad either.

Mag nb, any decent ideas on builds, I'm guessing the usual julianos with either torugs and kena or magnus. Synergies well with a vampire using clouding swarm for the extra damage, maybe even go khajit for 10% more.

Stam dk, aka wrecking blow spammage...not too sure, I enjoy versatility but I'd rather have a build with some burst for a change (not 20 5 second channeled attacks like my temp) and as we all know crit rush+wrecking blow+ dragon leap can be hard hitting.

Had a stamblade ganker on ps4, nothing special just cookie cutter, great ganker but in general very boring and not great 1vx due to not having much versatility etc.

I'll tag some peeps in here to get the ball rolling (and to see how pesky these builds can be in good hands)

Don't lose hope on your templar, they still have a place in the world, they're just best served as magicka-based health recharging stations.

Imperial is good for anything but not necessarily the best choice for everything, which suits their jack of all trades history in the series.

Weapon based damage I think is best suited as a Orc or Redguard, followed closely by Bosmer, Khajiit, Imperial and Dunmer.
Magic based damage is best suited with the magic races. Dunmer/Altmer/Breton for DK, Altmer for Sorc, but don't discount wierd combos like Sorc Bosmer (the stam regen is actually helpful for rolling sustainability and I've seen some guys use it well out there). I've got to say I greatly enjoy my magic-tanky Argonian Nightblade. I don't feel it is the best combination, but its certainly a fun build and I've done reasonably well with it.

Not gonna roll a sorc, don't enjoy the playstyle when I did on console, it's either stam dk or magica nb, since I haven't used these much I fancy a change.

Lol at health recharging station. ..pretty true.

Fancied an imperial build again, I like versatile and that's kinda what they are.

I'd go either imperial or red guard Stam DK. That's what my next char will be.

Can't speak from experience for any of the options you listed but you may want to consider reactive armor on the DK, its pretty impressive.

I'm not a fan of a magicka NB. I feel it is one of the weakest gimmicky builds in the game right now.

Magicka NB's can be fearsome in the right hands but your hardcounter is a competent magicka sorc.

Stamina DK's can eat sorcs for breakfast and put out some good damage but are slightly held back by lack of a class spammable ability. Take Flight is probably the best ultimate in PvP right now though.

My next alt will probably be either an Orc DK or a Redguard DK. Maybe Imperial but probably not.

Magicka nightblade is both strong and versatile - there are quite a few build options that work very well. I suppose the player above calls it gimmicky because they don't like cloak, but that's far from the only tool in your arsenal as a magicka NB. My stamina NB does more consistent burst damage and is a better ganker, but the Magicka NB is consistently more fun. I also feel more capable in 1vX, and it's easier to escape bad situations with lots of magicka for purge and cloak.

That said, stamina DK is really strong and you have some build options with 2h/bow and 1hshield/2h both being great. I wouldn't say it's less played than magicka NB though... I see a lot of stam DKs lately, especially since Alcast's videos.

Didn't think heavy would be all that good an option, was thinking medium .

I'll just trow mine here because the EU server is off and it's pretty similar to what you described.
I'm a breton vampire:

5 Julianos, 1 Kena, 1 Torug's for the armor
2 Torug's swords\ 1 Torug's Resto
3 Willpower all Arcane

Dual Wield:
Conceiled Weapon, Sap Essence, Mass Hysteria, Dark Cloack, Swallow Soul ULT: Incapacitating Strike
Restoration:
Flex slot*, Purge, Healing Ward, Dark Cloack, Shadow Image ULT: Clouding Swarm

*For the Flex Slot I run random things but mostly Crippling Grasp.

Pretty standard but it's fun to use, at least for me.

I've also PVPed a bit with a Imperial Stam DK but not much, it's really strong at the moment but WBing people to death gets boring after a bit and you'll lack any possibility to experiment and change things around as the 2H bar is set in stone.

I'll say this. As a magblade your natural enemy is a mag sorcerer. Stamina anything is just going to be WB spam regardless of class and race.

The only time concealed weapon is useful is if you are fighting a reflective dk. That's it. You don't really need the extra speed while stealth. It is nice, but you are much better off spamming strife instead. It does about 95% of the damage for 50% cost and it heals you.

You can roll a SnB stam DK.

Requires a lot of animation cancelling, but it's definitely very effective. Only thing is you pretty much have to be redguard, not even Imperial is good enough for it.

I have a NB main and honestly and I can't believe I'm saying this lol but I'm having more fun now on my Imperial level 30 stamDK than I ever did on my stamNB and maybe even my old magblade.

WB -> Dragon Leap -> light attack -> Executioner is so lethal.

Dragon Leaping people off ledges is so satisfying as is a well timed reflect to watch a sorc eat his own frag or someone eat their own meteor. Time that with your burst and they're dead.

Leaping from outer to inner keep walls especially with a DK buddy is alot of fun too.

Sword and Board and 2H is probably the strongest dueling build out there right now too.

Is that because you have to use more weapon damage glyphs on enchants etc to achieve the numbers?adrenaline rush is a good passive

That's what I'm worried aboud, I had a dk tank back at Console launch, but never reapply pvp much with him, felt like wrecking blow was my only option and as we all know wrecking blow is easily avoided by a good player nowdays.

That's what worries me about a stam dk, is wrecking blow spamming , anyone tried the sword and board builds for something different?

Instead of re-posting the same thing, I'll link my post regarding my magicka NB here.

I love playing a magicka NB. So much utility and I'm switching my bars constantly to use a good mix of all the abilities the class offers. Mind you, my setup listed is for PvE solo. Dungeons and Cyrodiil are run differently, of course.

Just a little update, made an imperial magicka nb, very different that my old stam nb back on console, using sword and board main bar , resto back bar,

In comparison to my templar the utility is crazy, so many many buffs/debuffs to chose from, burst damage and sustainable damage both seem high.

Went vamp as well, with concealed weapon and night stalker perk I move at silly speeds when cloaked.
