Considering the fact that my recent Lava Whip post received a lot more attention being in the wrong category, but the category that the majority of PVPers read, I've decided to bring up another controversial topic that received mediocre discussion/views when I posted it a month ago in the PVP & Combat Skills category.

Templars, would you trade Radiant Destruction back for Flashes? For a time Flashes was underused like Mass Hysteria was for Nightblades, but it was a phenomenal defensive skill in PVP that enabled you to go on the offensive for the most part. Although it was powerful when paired with Blazing Shield pre-1.6, I think it's safe to say that most of us don't even bother to put Blazing on our bars anymore (unless paired w/ Anullment) given the fact that in this current patch shields other than Hardened Ward are extremely weak.

I believe giving Flashes back to Templars would make them very, very, very, VERY happy and put them on the competitive Solo/Small Group imaginary super fun time spectrum and encourage some other play styles than spamming BoL when in trouble like many new Templars are prone to do. My Templar has been my main since May of 2014 and now when I login to ESO to 1vX or small group I think to my self, 'Why logon to my Templar when I have a DK, NB, and Sorc that can perform much better in PVP', so I don't. Even if ZOS brings it back (which is highly unlikely) it should cost a fair amount of magicka or have a cool down to prevent renewing the effect right away like I would in pre-1.6 to prevent spamming from both magicka and stamina based Templars and I think it should be a higher percentage than the Major Evasion Buff, but not stack.

And yes I'm highly aware of the solo / small group Templars that make it work, but for being a partial "tank" class they rely on LoS almost more than any other Magicka class.

    When Blinding Flashes was in the game, it gave a 40 or 50 percent miss chance with a CC. Against melee builds, it was ridiculously strong.

    I'd love to see blinding flashes return; I assume it would give a major buff which is 20% - that's fine.

    Radiant destruction is very weak now. They reduced the ticks on it, it goes through dodge roll, and it leaves you vulnerable(as it has and should of course).

    In am sure alot of people would love it back, but this mechanic was removed from the game. Cinder storm and heated blade where removed along side flashes. Getting it back will not happen.

    I'd like to see them replace it with another ability, but like Mojican said they removed other like abilities from the game so I'm not sure it would ever come back.

    Radiant while meh in PvP, is still very strong in PvE.

    Stoped using RD in pvp for like 3 months ago, so dont care about this broken "finisher". But when you fight vs 3 sorcs, Flashes wont help you :neutral:

    Yeah it's a shame because Templar could have some amazing abilities but they are not well designed at all, and have suffered from community QQ nerfs.

    Templars should stay in the "kitchen" where they belong.
    Templars don't have a fixable solution with just adding 1 ability to the game, the class needs an entire reevaluation from ZOS. BoL is a great burst heal (and OP according to some), but it's a reactive skill that you can't always activate when you're focused down by 2 or more burst DPS builds, and Blazing Shield is too weak against 11k WB or 12k Frags. 50% dodge chance is ridiculous, especially with Templar burst healing, so if it even did come back, it'd be scaled down to 20% and the CC would probably be removed.
    If BoL is nerfed while Radiant Destruction and Toppling Charge are still bugged, templars are screwed yet again and will go back to their utilitarian position of washing the dishes for the burst dps builds. I'm ok with playing utility while having some decent single target abilities, but the play style is frustrating to deal with when so many abilities and passives are complete garbage.

    Heated blade was a morph of sparks, so technically @manny254 is already correct o:)

    I would love to see flashes make a come back, but as long as the exploiter passive in the ritual tree is around, they won't give it back. Because, it would, you know, completely throw off the equilibrium of the entire game if Templars had good aoe synergy.

    Flashes should never have been removed. They should have made eclipse the finisher which should have been made unbreakable and added a force choke effect that just sucked 75% of your health away before it wore off. Bring back the sith lord......Oh wait wrong game........

    60% chance on 4 players to be set off balance lasted 8 seconds flashed 2 times and did minor damage. That with blazing shield = mega damage in 7 seconds.

    I used this exclusively against full raids and that was when blazing shield was waked on crits. The bigger the mob the more shield the melee that hit me was set off balance and couldn't do anything while the shield exploded on them. Was mainstay raid buster for Templars.
