WoW has done several overhauls for example, but as many reviewers have commented, eso's character creation is the most in depth of any MMO to date.

Added more options to use? Definitely! (usually once they have a recustomization feature for those games that started without))
Changed the whole system? Can't think of any...

http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/155307/monetization-of-character-creation-concept/p1Advanced Khajiit Pack
This pack would include additional sliders for Khajiit characters only available to those who purchased this pack.
- Digitigrade or Plantigrade feet selector: Digitigrade feet would ‘hide’ any footware.
- Tail length slider: Allows players to have shorter tails all the way to no tail at all.
- Snout Slider: Allows players to have a shorter snout all the way to no snout at all (like the face of Men & Mer)
- Tail adornment: Allows players to add adornments to their tails, from tufts of fur on the end to piercings to large rings that go all the way around the tail. This pack should include a small selection for the player.
- Ear Placement Slider: Allows Players to move a Khajiit’s ears down the skull all the way to the side of their head (like the ears of Men & Mer)
- More fur/skin options: Allows players to choose skins with very little fur to skins with no fur at all.

Enhanced their character creator post launch. I know EVE added a character creation later but I've noticed how lacking other MMO's character creator tend to be, especially older ones. I know many of us hope ZOS will add additional options in their character creation with the release of the barber shop (SOON tm ) and I was just curious if any MMO has ever done anything like this in the past.

Funny...Dark Age of Camelot did too
some of the devs here were apart of that game.

Agreed. The basic system is fine and well balanced between lots-of-customizations and not-too-much-complexity (perhaps some splitting of sliders to have beards and eyeparches, scars and makeup, etc.), what we need is adding way more options to a few of the sliders (the ones for makeup, hairstyles, adornments and such) and more color options. To be purchased in the crown store.katamuro11b16_ESO wrote: »For ESO I think that they walked a fine line between functionality and ease of use, they could use with more hairstyles for both male and female chars, slightly increased colour palette but otherwise I think its fine.
AION had great character customization for 2008.

ESO would need to increase its choices by somewhere around a millionfold to even come close to what CoH offered.
Eso char creation is far from the best. I actually rank it in the bottom of the barrel.
