Best Single Card GPU for 4k Gaming with ESO

  • SapphireThunder
Even GTX970 is enough for running ESO at almost maxed out 4k 60fps. The only problem is how you require a real beast CPU or you will be constantly bottlenecked.

This game is not graphically demanding at all. It's the game coding and optimization which is total garbage in this game.

Yes, I have yet to try out my system in large scale PvP. But the game otherwise runs flawlessly at 4K and all other maxxed settings.

One further question I have is what do you guys set for limits for the particle sliders in the video settings? I left mine at the default 1024 as I wasn't quite sure what to do with it lol.

I would not call any signle-chip GPU out there 4K ready. Many of them (980Ti and Titan X included) are either capable of "smooth" 30FPS at maxed settings or hit just shy of 60FPS with some tweaks. Would even suggest you take a look at 295 X2 or how that AMD piece of **** is called :)

980Ti has a better price point than Titan X, and the Titan gets you 3-4% more FPS on average.

The single-chip single-gpu world is not ready for 4K yet. Maybe when Pascal comes to visit :)

Thing is it's not just the GPU that's a limiting factor but CPU, at the moment due to the inefficiencies of DX9/11 there isn't a desktop CPU on the market that could handle the stress most MMO's put on them. Even skylake cpu's would bottleneck in build up areas where there's a lot of players or NPC's.

I'd say a 980ti would be perfect for running this game at 4k if it wasn't for this factor, and going to pascal wouldn't fix any dips you might experience.

Keeping it minimum so that my fps wouldn't be totally unplayable.

    Hello All,

I am getting ready to build a gaming rig, but I'm having difficulty deciding which GPU setup with which to go.

I was initially interested in the GTX 980 TI x2 in SLI; however, then I read about microstuttering and that turned me off a bit.

What I'm wondering is whether I should just go with a single Titan X. Would that be enough for 4k gaming in ESO?

In addition, I will using my Sony Bravia 65" 4k television as a monitor if anyone has any advice on maxing out settings for that.

Thank you all for your help.

A titan x would be enough to play this game on 4k twice over no problem.
