I have a healing staff and thinking maybe later on I will invest in the healing skill line (healing allies and such).
but for now, i just like the fact there are staffs that heal me while attacking.

so... will the DESTRUCTION STAFF skill line work with a healing staff?
beacuse if not, i can't seem to find any way to make my hits with the staff stronger.

please help

thank you!

Do you want to kill crap faster and lack the abilities it offers? If so the answer is yes. You have more than enough skill points in the long run to train up a few weapons and can carry 2.

Abilities it offers... what a joker this one...

You can level both, though dw and 2h give more spell power, and im sure you can find far superior abilities on class skills or undaunted/alliance/support/mage guild skills.

Just sayin... maybe if wall of elements was playable.

There are advantages to both skill lines in terms of the things you can do and the situations where one might be preferable over the other. Most people would recommend leveling up both skill lines (by equipping and using skills from both) and gaining the flexibility to switch back and forth. At level 15 you can actually switch between two skill bars during combat, which can have a different weapon associated with each one. That's where you might find it beneficial to have a destruction staff on your main attacking bar and a restoration staff on your support/healing bar and make use of both.

So to start with I'd say plan to work on leveling both, and invest your skill points in whichever specific skills seem most useful to you as you go.

To answer one of your specific questions, the destruction staff skill line and the restoration staff skill line are independent, so putting points into destruction skills won't help your restoration staff damage.

Understood!! So my next question is: in what should I invest to make my healing staff attacks stronger? Is it just the amount of magika points I have or is there something else? Beacuse I noticed all of the healing staff skill line is helping and healing others rather then myself.

Basically what I'm trying to do is have the healinh staff ability to heal myself while attacking and yet have a strong attack and for as many enemies around me as possible.

    Thank you!

Honestly I haven't used a restoration staff much and the mechanics of it still confuse me. :D

I do know that magic damage in general scales off of magicka, so you're going to want a magicka-heavy build for both destruction and restoration.

Look specifically for restoration skills that include self-healing (presuming there are some), and I'd say at this point just work toward getting to level 15 where you can more easily switch between the harder-hitting destruction staff and the heals of the restoration staff.

Some more info about your vocation would be good.

I always advise with going with spell critical, thief mundus stone, law of julianos set, but it depends alot on your vocation. If you are mainly stamina based for example.

All weapon skills only work with their corresponding weapons. In other words, skills from the destruction staff line will only work with destruction staffs, either lightning, fire or frost.

Honestly, I would focus on your skill lines rather than resto staff attacks if you want to do damage.

Question is if I got this right, you want to know what your options are for self healing while attacking. Force siphon can be used and you can switch back to destro staff to get the heals. Same with all other abilities. Restro staff is best used for restoring magica.

Roll a Templar, your main attack skill heals you and is devastating to mobs. Puncturing Sweep (I think it is called Jabs pre-morph). And, you can use a Destro Staff while doing it. My Templar is the only character that I have that regularly solos world bosses and public dungeons on level. And, I can go into a group dungeon and keep a group alive and not change weapons, just move some skills around.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
