Multibox drop farming

Quite interesting situation:
We have 3 identicaly geared Sorcerers, with exactly identical skill rotation/build. 3 of them stationing nearby tree in Wrothgar. And circus begins...
Player (i guess that is player), uses one of his multiboxed characters to farm Rubedo Hide on Durzogs. Simple, but... here is the trick. Drop (yeah, that yellow outline of dead body) normaly stays on ground for a coupple of minutes. It is shared through party members, ie - one character killed mob, Durzog in that case, and whole group is able to pick up loot. Back to topic - when one of those "mighty" mages is out of magicka, player swaps to his box'ed farmer, quickly Streaks between corpses, loots all of them, and repeats whole sequence. In short - one (yes, exactly one) player can farm much more leather (number of multiplier is based on "opened" accounts). In case which i saw that was 3x faster than typical hunt for materials - due to 3 accounts runnin' in overall.
So - is it dirty secret taken from Book of Forbidden Knowledge (read as: breaking rules) or... just unfair behavior?

I am a boxer from way back (early 90s games like Asherons Call) and I defend it staunchly. If the player in the OP pays for 3 accounts he is entitled to get mats at 3x a single players rate. Its difficult to actually do that though, he is probably gaining mats at a much lower rate than 3 single players can.
Before I get flamed let me say a couple of things. First, I have never boxed eso, I was thinking about doing it but I will check the TOS before I do. Secondly, I have never used a program to play any character. When I box I play both (I box 2 at a time) chars totally manually. I DISAGREE with the use of programs to play.
Anyway, I hope its not against the TOA here as that will shorten my life in the game.

Anyway, I dont think multi-boxing is illegal in this game, you are running multiple paid for clients and are at the keyboard of each one (affectivly)

Final point, who cares how much leather this guy gets? its worthless. (probably because its easy to farm)

Yeah he can make a bit from the deconstructed materials on the other drops, but not a lot.

ESO is a resource hungry heavy client, can you image how painfull running even two ESO clients would be unless you use more than one physical computer? In which case it would be hard to proove he was actually multi boxing

I don't see a problem with multi-boxing as long as they aren't also using illegal macros to do so. However, I don't see how anyone can pull it off since there is no /follow command in ESO. Maybe if they are parking them in one spot and switching keyboards to loot or whatnot, but if somebody wants to go to all that trouble just for that, more power to 'em.

Maybe your opinon and for the gaming genres you play but hardly factual:P

And about multiboxing, it is against ToS, and IMO rightly so, too much can be abused from it, again IMO.

I can't find any specifically stating "multi-boxing" in the ToS/EULA etc, all I can find are rehashes of this paragraph:

5.1
Users are forbidden from using any unapproved third party applications, programs, scripts or any other game modifying mechanic used to change the game play experience on a ZeniMax Game, Service, forum, or other games or services provided by ZeniMax, including the distribution of said programs via ZeniMax services, sites, forums, communities, etc. This would include but is not limited to using or distributing speed hacks, aim bots, mouse controllers, spam bots, automated game play devices, etc. Third party applications are defined as any program, application or script written by an individual, company, corporation, or private party not employed by or contracted to perform services by ZeniMax.

Ultimately multi-boxes aren't automated, they are played and then the exact instructions relayed via software to other ESO clients. This could be done mechanically though if you were so inclined.

Whilst it may not specifically mention it, and I have zero trouble with people multiboxing, I think it very much teeters on the cliff-edge of acceptability in Zenimax's eyes and they could easily ban you for it if they fancied.

Yeah I couldnt find anything barring multi boxing or multi clienting but it was late and I could have missed something. Could someone give the official answer? (An actual ZOS person, not a player)....

Ran into two teams of this last night. There were three in each team. They all did the exact same movements as the lead character without fail and kept running the same circles. The "team" would run up on an enemy NPC and just stand there holding their swords while the NPC attacked. Then all of the sudden the NPC died, they stood there a few seconds and moved on to the next one.

I got addicted to the Diablo 3 auction house and went full pro with 4 accounts multiboxing. It was awesome while it lasted. I dont see how you could make it work in ESO though as it would be much harder to keep the characters in sync with all the roots and snares and the lack of closed off areas and corners to easily sync up against... On the D3 forums we had insanely lengthy discussions on whether or not it was against the terms of service. In the end an official moderator gave the final verdict and declared it is fine as their is no automation of the actual game. The same would probably apply here...

This is a tough call.

the way ZOS TOS is written, in its broad and vague nature, they could ban you for multi-boxing. I personally wouldn't risk doing it. As we already know ZOS frowned on folks multi-boxing with bots to farm nodes, I don't think they would be to wild about the idea of one person using multiple accounts as a group to farm matts as its not an organic or natural way of getting materials.

again YMMV but I wouldn't bet on ZOS being too hot about this idea...just my 2cents, its your account i guess....

bots not using multibox
they using soft for injection and read memory

Where do you draw the line if you can 100% coordinate 10 strikes on a 7m radius area at exactly the same time for 1000% damage for upto 60 players in that area... 1 shot killing upto 60 players hit ?

Getting 10 individual players to sync up that well is a difficult but not impossible task.
(This is the biggest problem facing PVP right now).
10 characters under 1 players control on the same PC is not.

It's...... will it be done vs can it be done.
If CS farming is anything to go by.....

Same as botting, report and ban.

But ZOS tends to never ban anyone, cheaters in pvp exploits have been doing it forever and never get banned...
