Champion points in the Crown Store? That sounds convenient.....

Looking at the Crown Store at this present moment in time.... I'm going for March is when you will see CP appear. Armour sets, around July. Not sure when they will put in the boost to lvl 50 though.

I have to laugh... because you have some players saying that "some players will never catch up" and then you have those level capped players wanting to increase the cap more and faster because they don't care about other players- even though without those other players, the game ends.

But I say NO to ever adding anything to increase your level in the Crown Store. If players are unwilling to play the game, then they shouldn't reap the rewards for not playing. Also, players with real world $$ shouldn't be able to BUY their way to the top. I think their catch-up mechanic works well... I'm adding tons of CPs every day now so it's not difficult; I should finally reach 100 CP by the end of the day today. Still far below cap, but if you play the game, you reap the rewards.

Just an FYI because I recently transfered to PC from console and started from scratch I'd give a heads up.

My templar is now vr2 with 3/4 on the way to vr3, I had (obviously 0 cp) and I'm now at 94, that's over 2 days with enlightment.

By the time I'm vr16 (gonna be slow since I only want one char atm so doing cadwells again) im expecting to be at around 350-270 CP Mayne 300 if played over the course of 2-3 weeks with enlightment.

That means in 6 months if the cap was raised to 1000cp and the mechanic gets adjusted, you're average new player will have approx 450-500 CP by the time they hit vr16 on their first character. This is extremely good imo, hell should mean anyone making two vr16 would be around 600-700 cp within a short amount of time.

Hear me out. Even with the catch-up mechanic, in a year or so, new players will NEVER be able to catch up with longtime players. Those new players will get very frustrated and eventually they will give up on the game, because there's no way they'll ever catch-up on Champion Points. Those players should be able to buy CP in the Crown Store for a hefty price and ONLY until they've reached the cap.
    Is there really another solution?

Eventually everyone will be giving up on this game.

Hear me out. Does anyone even want to play this game? Just kind of curious because all these threads on here are.. give me this, give me that. I don't want to level, I don't want to grind, I don't want to put on more armor. Do away with Vet Levels, I don't want CP, Nerf this and Nerf that. Why does it take so long.

The list goes on and on and ON...

So really the question I have for everyone: Do you really want to play this game??

I do, but unfortunately my computers in the shop for repairs and can't play.

Guys just play the game, you don't have to be the best or have the most CP to enjoy it.

    Edit:

Sorry I am kind of grouchy haven't played the game in 3 days. and I really miss it.

ZOS isn't going to let their game die for potential new customers, they will always have a catch-up mechanic and implement rules that are friendly to new players. Making them buy CP in the crown store is a HORRIBLE IDEA, nothing would turn off new players more than that. I could see ZOS GIVING new players a minimum CP for buying the game.

    OP

Are you trying to draw a distinction between Pay to win and Pay to catch up ?

I think there were better ways to make CP viable for everyone of every level.
eg The champion bar, where you select 3 out of all the skills.
Noobs could get 3 skills maxed pretty quicker.
Vets couldn't use anymore than 3 skills at a time....but had a massive selection to populate the bar.
    No CP caps.....endless progression.
    Mimics the skill bar system.

ZOS decided on another way that I don't particular like.
But it does do the job.
People can catch up....to the lower/upper range cap...even if they can never catch up to other players (who are capped regardless so it doesn't matter).

The question becomes can casuals realistically catch up the Current cap...whatever that may be ...in a reasonable time frame before those caps are raised ?
So if the cap is raised every 3 months.....can a new player realistically hit the current cap in 3 months ?
If new players cant catch up with the current cap (as it rises)....the new system wont work.

    *sigh*

topics like these and a few comments from people in here make me sad. let me keep it simple for all those who dont do maths or research before giving opinions. below is an exaggerated sketch of how the current catch up mechanic works
    ZLfFasG.jpg
    • the XP required per CP is based on your total CP and the level cap.
    • new players gain CP quickly due to a big difference between what they have and the cap.
    • As the cap raises they gain CP even quicker the new system makes it completely viable and sustainable for a new player to catch up, and keep existing players on the grind

    TL;DR
no additional system or way to gain CP is needed than the mechanics they are/have introduced. they might need to tweak it but no CP in Crown store needed for new players.
