    1 mill isnt so much as people think, ESO's crew is around 200, if they pay 2000 salary per month, thats 400k, and then theres lots of other expenses too.

    I don't know what I detest the most:
    1. That any company who wants to be reputable does something like this
    2. That there are people that love joining this for the money

    But this action fits too well with the RNG drop lottery to my taste

    You realize WoW basically gives out cash though right? Those little tournaments they hold... Cash prizes for the winners. Not a unique move but definitely not something that will receive overall positive feedback for various reasons.

    Yeah was just trying to say this gimmick is a pretty meh "privilege" IMO. What I'm curious about is, once there's a winner, how much will the poor sap be hounded by having to be in Zeni advertisements and from other players.

    This giveaway feels a little discriminating, ZoS taking money worldwide but giving away only by cherry picking countries. I pay for crowns as much Euros as finns, germans and french!!!

    For tournaments, also WoW hasn't been in a downward spiral of horrible press and failing updates since launch. As other have said $1mil could do a lot for the game past a marketing gimick/campaign.

    Mind actually blown... Signed up because why not but... just yeah in shock for this.

    Is it because then you would not be able to tax deduct it?

    I think I will change my subscription to free of charge.

    why make a contest and only allow a few amount of countries? i live in portugal and my money is just the same as everyone else. contest should be for the entire comunity cus everyone supports the game not only the people from those 10 countries.

    This is one of the lamest marketing decisions I have ever seen. Such an obscene waste of money, and such a botched rollout (limiting to 10 countries is guaranteed to alienate every paying customer from the countries who were left out).

    As others have pointed out, pretty much any other way of spending the $1m would be more effective than this. You can sure buy a lot of server hardware for that, for example !

    I don't normally make negative comments about ZoS, but I feel obliged to make an exception in this case.
