If I can find someone to craft a Julianos set, how much should I tip?

    I dont have DLCs.

Also once I get the sets cant I upgrade them my self or i have to go to DLC zones to upgrade?

The biggest issue with new players today is they look up a build on a website and try to copy it, ignorant of the mechanics of the game, the changes, the whens whys and hows. All things us veterans learned over the last two years, which I may add were full of testing, trial, error, and so many changes to mechanics your head would spin.

My tip? Learn how all the sets work, what buffs what, what skills work together, how damage scales, what increases damage output, how recovery works, just figure out the nuts and bolts of the game.

Then put together something that actually makes use of all of that knowledge you gained. That is where you actually start. Picking up other player templates is the reason newbies never learn.

Then you get to a level like this. off the top of my head ill theorycraft a build right here on the spot. Stamina gank nightblade. (no its not what youre looking for, but imma do it anyway)

Bosmer or Khajiit racial (bosmer for the sustain in stam recovery, cat if you want a little more punch), you can also use reguard in place of bosmer

    Dual Wield, 2 Hander

3x Agility, 3x Endurance (how? use 2 agility weapons in DW, agility neck, 2 end rings and an endurance 2 hander. use sharpened or precise traits, daggers or maces.)

Five hundings, 1 molag kena, 1 bloodspawn, all v16. Infused head legs chest, divines rest. 1 heavy, 1 light, 5 medium. All attribs to stam, all CPs to cost reduction, recovery, and mighty in the blue tree. red points spend on whatever reduces damage but not armor skills, ever.

If bosmer 2x weapon damage 1x stam recovery, if khajiit 1x weapon damage 2x recovery on jewelry enchants

Disease and weapon damage enchants on weapons

    Stamina enchants on all gear

    warrior mundus

Unlock Assault 5, Undaunted 9, Fighters guild 10, Legerdemain 6 at least

Rally, Vigor, Wreckblow, Executioner, Crit Charge, Flawless Dawnbreaker
Ambush, SurpriseAttack, KillerBlade, CamoHunter, Darkcloak, SoulHarvest

Didnt need a website, or even a login to the game to come up with that, thats just experience gained from testing and playing. Sure it might have things others might tweak around, but this is how you get better at the game, you learn why i picked everything I did.

    have fun.

    Dude's a magicka nb. You're posting a stamina build.

I also posted a magicka build in a separate post, theorycrafted on the spot.

My point wasnt to spoonfeed him a build, it was to show him how to create one.

I have never once looked up a build from any site, video, or forum. All of mine I made on my own by figuring it all out, for good or ill when it came time to see how it worked out.

After a lot of practice, trial and error, and tweaking, ive gotten pretty good at it, and my entire motive is to get people to think for themselves, not to copy paste something from a wikia or fansite.

So you took a big dump on the guy without giving him any useful advice. He asked about magicka NBs for PVE, you post a wall of text about a stam NB build for pvp. What was the point of your snarky post? Admit it, you just wanted to give yourself an ego boost, didnt you? Why not just write: L2P and be done with it?

Sorry you feel that way, but no. There is nothing to admit as that was not my intent whatsoever. If I really wanted to dump on the guy id have left it at the first four paragraphs and not even included the parts on HOW to theorycraft, or the two builds I posted in this very thread.

Admit it, youre just trying to take a potshot at me. I dont see you actually helping in any way.

I agree with most of what your saying but in I think mentoring is great. You've learned over a years worth of trial and error and that's part of your fun. Some people are not as patient and if they ask for help, educating them isn't hurting anything.

When i first started playing (at launch) I discussed what skills, etc, my party members were using, then I looked up other builds in other classes to see what people were using so I could learn the skills to either better help them in a party or kill them in pvp. I could then also make suggestion on their builds and they could on mine. It is beneficial to know these things and if it takes you 3 month to level a character and learn its ins and outs your only 2 year away from having a solid understanding in dungeons and PVP, etc. (4 classes, both magicka and stamina, and all roles in pve and pvp).

Most people also down play the variables. Racial passives are HUGE. That ONE choice dictates your max potential. Every other choice you make is based around that, which you pointed out in your post.

There are People who post builds (skills/gear/CP) but not why they choose something over something else, which is the problem I have with most builds. Why pick this over that? What situations? Educate. Like @blabafat Templar post. Its not a build at all. Its just thoughts on skills to help people get where they want and need to go. It's also something for the dev's to reference when adjusting skills and class balance. Without that understanding next update they'll need a new build handed to them, rather then coming up with their own.

In game you don't find out if a skill is useful until you level and morph it. You're build is working well and then its not and you find other skills with their morphs help despite the underwhelming tool tip. Some skills stunk last update are great now. Do you retest all skill/morphs every update or do you talk to discuss with your friends and guild mates, etc? I try to level ever class skill and it's morph so that when they change I can just morph it the other way and see whats up.

Doctor don't have to figure out medicine from scratch, they learn from other doctor and then improve upon they practices they've been taught. That's how everything advances but you are absolutely right. Knowledge is power. I didn't read the post as being snarky. Very legit post IMO even if I don't 100% agree.
