We have dyes... And we have costumes!

Now...
what about allowing us to combine the two? :D

I mean, seriously... I LOVE the new stuff that is going to be added on the Store... but I just hate their colors and imagine how beautiful they could look with all the dyeversity in the game... I hate it every time I remember that I can't dye my quest/achievements/store costumes

This is not the first time someone asks for this and my threads are usually HUGE, but I guess this time it would be easier to just get to the point:
People buy stuff from a store to look unique, what's the point if everyone will look the same?
What's the point of completing achievements if I can't combine their reward with stuff I purchase with real money?

It's about damn time, ZOS...

Dyes for costumes!
For christmas - please :disappointed:

    I completely agree.

The idea of buying costumes is to get a unique look.

Who had the genius idea to make costumes unable to be dyed?

Preposterous idea. How would ZOS sell the same costumes only with different colors a year from now?

They do that with mounts, but costumes have been unique (so far) - except the blacksmith/chef, wedding/evening and the ones that are based on armor pieces (Scouts Pack, Knights Pack, etc...) But even those have some unique features. For example, although the Winterborn costumes look like the Primal (or barbaric? Not sure now) motif armor, their helmets and some details (fur boots, etc) are unique to them.

I have my reservations with Store policies and such, but we should be fair. They have not reskinned costumes yet, just mounts.

It took about a year to be able to dye shields... we still can't dye weapons... so I'm guessing we will be able to dye costumes around... 2018.

Lol, true. Although I'm not sure if I agree with weapon dyeing. I kind of like the fact that the blade or the wood has the color of the material it is made of. BUT I'd love to be able to dye hilts/handles and other things like quivers, etc... Also, if we had WEAPON SHEATHS (come on, ZOS!) the fact that a red sword doesn't fit with our looks wouldn't bother us so much out of combat :P

    *sigh* sheaths.... would be great.

I would really like to have Alliance tabards that could be worn over any armour type. But not guild tabards that cost 2000g for some reason.

This should absolutely be a thing, and would make many costumes much more appealing. Just look at the new Orsimer costumes coming out. Pretty darn cool... but does that shade of blue reaaaaaally match every character? Especially with the deep red weapons everyone at max level has to sport now? And what if you have an even better blue unlocked, like the one for doing all the Covenant quests? Imagine the stunning variety! Plus it would help differentiate your look from the other 10k people who bought the costume. As it stands right now, it's a little unappealing to get them when you know everyone else is doing the same darn thing. Even if you do tooootally wear it better.

Ugh no weapon dyes. I don't want an Elder Scrolls game with neon pink and green swords.

Costumes definitely need color customization though.

    Yes, please!
let us dye the costumes so everyone will look more individual.

The problem with dye and costumes may be that costumes are not an item where they could attach dye stats, but a tab in the collections... may be needing more coding then they want to bother with to make them dye-able.

Also, as wise men have mentioned before, if they don't let costumes be dyed, they can sell color swaps later on for extra profit...

Weapon dyes on the other hand many are hoping for, so they -dont- have to fight with pink, blue or red swords (you people know which crafting materials and temper cominations I am talking about here  ) but can have cool silvery steel instead...

Oh that's true but if it's the material's color it doesn't bother me, like having green weapons in Morrowind when I used glass. Green isn't exactly my first color choice for weapons (or armor) but that's the material's color.

This is one reason I won't buy costume. Why would I want to look like everyone else? This game needs a transmog system similar to WoW.

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

And giant red lightsaber colored weapons are better ? Kinda tired of red and purple swords can't a Nord get a good old fashion grey steel sword?

Being able to dye costumes is something we're working on for the future.

And yes, the team that works on Crown Store items are not the ones who work on server performance. ;)

    No, it doesn't.
Transmog system is a sick fungus compared to LOTRO's outfit system.

This game needs LOTRO's outfit system (or something similar).
