I do feel all the racial passives should be a mix still as they are rather than pigeon holed into one role. This doesn't mean I don't want adjustments and balance passes, but I don't think race should determine your role in a group.
Have them favour an attribute, and have their special styles but develop it in a way which means you can choose x race and still play any role/style just maybe not as optimised as the ones they favour, this is the true TES way.
Min/Max designs will always be there no matter what and no matter how you balance them (other than removal) there will be a select group of players who will play specific race/class/role combinations because of the benefits but they shouldn't be so big that you HAVE to be X race to play Y class or Z role.@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver

I agree with what you say, but simply looking at the overview in OP it's pretty clear that only DC have a well rounded distribution of passives regarding roles, that AD need an obvious tank, and that Argonians are useless.
But you are right about the pigeon holing though...1 -

✭✭✭✭✭No, you are going about this all wrong, and I'll explain why...I don't see why a Bosmer or a Altmer can't tank though, surely you play off the passives you have. For example because of their bonus in Stamina/Magicka areas you can focus less on the resource you choose to tank and build your gear/enchantments around better health/healing.
That's not to say I disagree with you that better options within each faction is needed, I just would hate to see a system where X race is the "tanking race" etc.
And yes Argonians suck.

✭✭Of course they can tank. I just got to thinking that as a new player in DC it's so obvious what you should roll when you know what you want. In EP it's also kind of clear since Nords are obviously tanks and Dunmer do the rest. In AD it's just weird. 2 obvious nightblades and if anything ever screamed sorc it's Altmer.0 -
Junkogen✭✭✭✭✭Yes, balance the racial passives around what faction they are in.Argonians have tank passives, as well. They're just not as good as Nord passives. They created the passives back when stamina builds were weak, soft caps were in place, and certain racial passives outright stunk. DC and AD have received all kinds of love from the devs whereas EP has been left behind.
...I shouldn't talk about this stuff anymore. It makes me hate the developers. I want to love them, but they make it near impossible.
I wish they would just give me a free race change and I wouldn't care as much anymore. It bothers me though that I'm probably going to have to pay $20 to correct them changing the entire game.0
