What things do you need to have points in to maximize the quantity and quality of goods that you get from the hirelings?

Skill in relevant crafting line.

i.e. If you can only craft iron for blacksmith well.... i don't think you'll get anything above iron. Regardless of lvl.
I'm v8 and getting v16 mats because my smiting is maxed (9/9 for quality crafting)

My only alt is 3/9 for enchanting potency and I can used over half a dozen potency runes (I never receive runes I can't actually craft with)

The hireling itself for the chance at more/better improvers.

The level of the craft (what materials you can use) if you want to get non-Maple/Iron/Jute.

See i'm not sure cause I've got 50 in one craft line and I get ok stuff but I have all points in another and get much better stuff both are 50 and 50 but one has all skills and the other has only hirling 3/3

so you don't think it's like with the crafting writs and the psijic recipe where you need the other skill lines to boost the odds?

I guess I'm wondering if I need 3/3 metal extraction and 10/10 metal working on a level 50 blacksmith with 3/3 hireling vs level 50 with 3/3 hireling ?

it seems like a difference to me but maybe its just RNG making it hard to tell ?
