you would miss on to many usefull trait to make them viable. just look at desto staff vs dualwield
Not really, we already have gloves as armor.SublimeSparo wrote: »
You make really good points, but since we're throwing fireballs and summoning demonic entities, I wouldn't mind sacrificing a little realism for the sake of a little more "martial artsy" flair empowered by the harnessing of one's inner Magicka.TheShadowScout wrote: »The thing is, those punch attacks wouldn't and shouldn#t be comparable to proper weapons in damage. A brawling skill line -would- plausibly not dumb knuckleheads trying to punch through plate mail (this isn't a superhero agme after all), but using wrestling moves to affect someone in armor without having to get past it. In game terms, lots of CC. Leg sweep for a takedown. Dirt thrown in eyes for a blind. Dirty kick below the belt for a stun. (maybe make that one have double effect against male characters...)
That would be the sort of brawling skill line I'd like to see - less damage, more CC. Since we generally have the class skills to do damage anyhow.

and add some classes for more selections?
Just saying
PS Glad Thieves Guld and Dark Brotherhood is coming, How about Blades and Bard's Guild? XD
It is a magic based game however. Damage enchants on rings and a set that reduces armor resistance on critical hits is what I use now on my unarmed character in the absence of an actual skill line. Of course fighting tanky character builds tends to lead basically to a stalemate, but you can knock the block off a light armor, and even some medium armor wearers.TheShadowScout wrote: »Not really, we already have gloves as armor.SublimeSparo wrote: »

Brass knuckles. Punch Daggers. Cesti. Lengths of chain wrapped around fist. Rope wrappings dipped in sap and broken glass. Leather mittens with a horseshoe tucked inside. Stuff like that...
